Works fantastic!
I either needed this affordable capacitor or a brand new expensive window unit. So I’m feeling pretty good about this capacitor. I tell everyone I know about how I fixed our AC. (I don’t tell them how easy it was!) As I write this my hair is being gently blown by a 68 degree cool blast from my trusty window unit with a fancy new capacitor.

Our AC sometimes makes a kind of super loud humming noise that doesn’t cease by just turning the unit off. It requires shutting off the circuit breaker. We let it sit for a while, (usually at least a few hours), before trying to run it again. I personally think it sounds like the compressor is not kicking off to allow the unit to cycle normally, but I am by no means a mechanic. Do you think it could be maybe something like a starting capacitor? The fan still runs when the noise starts. Will it hurt to continue to use the unit before it’s repaired? This is the main source of AC for our household, which consists of myself, 65 & semi disabled, and my almost 90 yo mother. This unit was purchased in June of 2022, so I wouldn’t think it would just be used up and in need of replacement…. Please advise if you can.
For model number LW2516ER air conditioner
Hi Dottie, thank you for contacting us. We have found that if an air conditioner has a bad capacitor, it may continuously draw more power than it should, which creates that humming noise. We would recommend checking the capacitor, part number PS3533468, to fix the issue. We hope this helps!
