Bake Element - Push On Terminals - 240V Specifications
The bake element in your oven provides the cooking heat. This part can be found at the bottom of your oven, and attaches to the power source on the back wall. It has two terminals that fit into the power source receptacle. This part is made of metal, and is approximately 20 inches in length and 18 inches in width. This product is sold individually. Many of our customers have rated this repair as easy. To complete this repair, simply lift the old element up and out of your oven, and replace it with the new one. Be sure to disconnect power from the oven before you begin this repair.

The bake element burned out. The gasket was dirty and not working well.
Replacing the gasket is easy and requires no tools. Pull out the ends that are just inserted in their slots. Then work your way around the door pulling out the little metal clips from their holes. Replace the new gasket the same way.
It's even easier to do if you remove the door first and place it on a table--but it's heavy. To
... Read more remove the door, flip up the hinge clips--you might need a flat screwdriver to do this if they are old and stiff as mine were. Then close the door almost all the way--you'll feel a stopping point-- and pull up. It comes right out--but again, it's heavy.
Replacing the bake element is not much harder. It's easier to do with the door off, but not impossible with the door on. First, pull out the range and unplug it. Then, remove the hex screws holding the bake element against the back wall. The element has two electrical contacts that insert into clips at the ends of wires. Pull out the wires a bit to give yourself some slack, then pull the contacts out of the clips. Insert the clips from the new element into the wires and replace the screws.
If the wires get lost behind the back wall of the oven, it's not a big deal. Just remove the narrow central panel on the back (it has six hex screws) and push the wires back through the wall opening. Then replace the back panel and install the new element.
With circuit breaker off, I opened the oven door and removed the two mounting hex-head screws that held the cooking element at the rear of the oven. I pulled the oven away from the wall and unplugged the unit's 220 volt power cord from the wall. I removed the rear cover panel by removing five hex-head screws that held the panel in place
... Read more. I sought out the wires that connected to the oven element and pulled the tabs from the failed element. I moved to the front of the stove to remove the old element. As the contact ends of the element are curved up, I needed to lift the front of the old element up to an approximate angle of 45 degrees before I was able to remove it from the oven. I then placed the new element into the mounting holes, again with the front of the element raised at an angle. Its insertion was easily performed. I replaced the main element mounting screws at the rear of the oven. I went to the rear of stove again and reconnected the power tabs to the element contacts. I repositioned the rear cover panel and replaced the five hex-head screws to secure it into place. The main power was reconnected to the power outlet and carefully slid the stove back into position. Circuit power was reset and the oven tested successfully.

Disconnect electric at panel box. Pull oven out. Remove 5 screws from rear panel. Pull off the 2 clips at the tips of the old element which is located about 2/3 down the back side of the oven. Stove not heating properly for baking. Since unit is 13 years old, I decided to replace both heating elements and temperature sensor.
Turned off breaker for stove. Pulled stove from wall and turned it to access back. Unplugged cord for better movement of unit. Took off back panel exposing connecting wires and disconnected them all. Replaced back panel and pushed stove back in place. Fairly easy repair. DO NOT lean on oven door! Oven will tilt forward with enough pressure.
My son did it by using pliers. He took out the screws that held the element in and pulled it out and used the pliers to pull the wires out of the old one and snapped the new one in . put it back together. about 5 minutes.

Oven was very slow to heat
Removed the rear panel from the Range using the nut driver. pulled the terminal wires off the back of the heating element. This model does not show up any where. What model is compatible? My stove is over 9 years old. Is it time for a replacement? Burners are not as bright with most heat in the center.

Hi,
