The Model Number refers to a Frigidaire Oven/Microwave Combo in the wall unit which I installed about 10 years ago. The microwave display is getting dim. Can this part Frigidaire 5304472855 be accessed for replacement from the front of the unit or must I remove the unit from the wall? Thank you in advance for any information on this.
For model number FGMC2765KB
Hello Larry, Thank you for your inquiry. For safety reasons, since the microwave capacitor can still store electricity even when the microwave is unplugged, it is usually advised that you discharge the capacitor before any attempt at repair. We have included a link on how to do so. Depending on the model, you may just be able to pull the control panel off by depressing the tabs, but some models have screws on the back of the panel that you need to take off in order to access the panel. In any case, in order to discharge the capacitor, you would need to remove the housing. We have included a link to our video on troubleshooting the touchpad which shows how to remove the panel on most microwaves. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
