How do i test too see if this is working? or what is the symptoms of a bad heater? my freezer doesn't shut off runs all the time, door seals seem in good shape evapcoil has small ice chunks on it...fan on coil seems to be working...at one time before manually defrosting every thing , the freezer would freeze solid in the lower part. the upper part seem To be working like a fridge.
For model number FFFU20F2VW0
Hi John, thank you for getting in touch. In order to test the defrost heater for continuity. Set the multitester to the ohms setting X1. Place a probe on each terminal. The multitester should display a reading somewhere between zero and infinity. If the reading is zero or infinity, the defrost heater is definitely bad and should be replaced. If it is not at fault, we would recommend checking the defrost thermostat, part number PS12746820, to fix the issue. We hope that helps!
