Dishwasher would not start Would run if you added 2 qt. water manually
Unplugged power.
Shut off water supply.
Remove the kick panel.
Unscrewed dishwasher from under cabinet and side screws. lower feet to reduce tension.
As you slide the dishwasher out, be sure all lines (Drain, water supply, electric are free to move with dishwasher.
I was able to hold the dishwasher at an angle to easily get to the valve. After removing the the valve, i screwed the new valve back into place. I removed the Line between the valve and Dishwasher. Putting the line on the new valve. I removed the water supply line from the old valve and installed it on the new valve.
Placed the dishwater back in place and screed it back in. I ran the cycles. everything works!
I replace the kickpaner a couple of hours later. Check to make sure there were now leaks.

Dishwasher not operating. Would fill, not operate, then drain.
Performed all checks on youtube...water coming in, course and fine filter cleaned, drain pump working (heard it come on and no water present and cycle end). Swapped water inlet valve bc it was the cheapest poss fix $19. No luck. Ordered circulation pump and motherboard. Swapped pump, very easy with machine out and turned on its back. Temp reinstall and ops checked good. Contacted Partselect for return slip, emailed immediately and sent thru post office.

Why does this part fail so often, I have replaced it twice.
For model number gdt6555smjoes
PartSelect logo
Hello Daniel, thank you for your question. I may be due to needing to clean your inlet valve and screen which easily becomes clogged with massive water deposits, dirt, and debris. Or, since the Valve is controlled by the Electronic Control PS16762510, it may be an electrical surge. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Albert, Thank you for your question. If your dishwasher fills and then drains, there may be an issue with the pump or the impeller inside it. You should also check to see if the holes in the spray arms are blocked and check if the water inlet valve is working properly. Once you have determined the part you need, please call customer service. We look forward to hearing from you!

This dishwasher is not filling with water upon start cycle. The timer and drain pump cycle all come on as if the cycle is running. We see some steam but no water coming out or in bottom of dishwasher. I’ve read it could be water inlet valve, float switch, or something else. What process and order do you recommend for eliminating the various causes?
For model number GDF610PGJ2BB
PartSelect logo
Hello Stephen, thank you for contacting us. Based on the description that you have provided, the issue is most probably with the flood switch, part number PS8690623. It controls the hot and cold water filling the tub to ensure the proper amount of water. We would recommend replacing it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
