The dishwasher is not draining I checked the drain hose and found no obstructionHow do I determine that the pump is not working

Thank you for your question. To verify if the drain pump is working, you will need to test it with a multimeter for continuity. Set the drain pump to the Rx1 setting and touch the pump’s terminals with the probes. You should receive a reading of zero or nearly zero. Next, you should test the ground connection by touching one of the probes to the bare metal housing while leaving one on a terminal. This test should not produce any reading. If the results of your tests are different from those above, you will need a replacement pump. The dish washer run cycle seems to freeze and then turn off at the drain cycle. Does that mean the drain pump is not working? We checked it and there are no obstructions. It just turns off when it gets to the draining cycle.

Drain pump is running constantly. Only shuts off at breaker. Have pulled fine filter and removed any water. Cleaned check valve. Model does not have a float valve.

Help Please! Hotpoint dishwasher- after wash cycle, water drains and pump continues to run. Dishwasher does not advance to the next cycle. The green light on the start button flashes 5 times. After maybe 5 minutes the dishwasher will turn off. I restart the dishwasher. It is still in the drain cycle, won't advance to next cycle and I then tap on the motor underneath. This sometimes start the new cycle because I hear water coming into the washer and it begins wash the dishes. When it comes to the drain cycle, it drains the water and the pump continue to run. I can open the door and the drain pump continues to run. I can pour water into the bottom and watch the water being pumped out. Sometimes as it is draining, it sounds like some gears from the pump are not meshing causing a grinding noise. What do you think?
