The glass cooktop shattered after something fell on it. Can you just replace the glass or does the whole stovetop need to be replaced?

The glass top of this range cracked without any objects falling on it. Can the black glasstop be replaced without the purchase of the whole assembly which costs almost $900 dollars (part PS11762851)?
