Search tool was wrong, but PS tech saved the day
Using the PartSelect search tool (by my machine's model number) turned up the wrong part. Fortunately, others had encountered this problem before and a tech from PartSelect had replied with the correct part number. Why they don't just fix the model's listing to include the correct part, I don't know. Perhaps the MFR had changed the design but not the model #. The website-recommended part has TWO holes in the manifold where it connects with the water line and the part I needed has ONE hole, which the tech had correctly recommended to someone else's question.
In any case, the new manifold piece appears genuine, fits perfectly and my machine is working like new again. Maytag model #MDB4949SDH2.
Lesson learned: don't rely upon the search tools. Instead, pull the part and find the part number(s) printed on the part itself.

The manifold has a plastic part at the back end which has come off and is warped. Can I get this plastic piece without buying the whole manifold (wpw10571949) thanks for any help.

Hi. The white plastic piece that connects the upper spray manifold to the water has fallen off. I am not sure which part to order - mine has a single hole, but this model dishwasher is not shown in the compatibility list. I can find the assembly with my model number, but the white plastic piece has two holes versus one. Both can't be correct! Any suggestions? Thank you.
