went on this website to fine info ALWAYS GO TO TYE OF APP. FIRST THEN TYPE IN MODEL NUMBER...THAT WAY YOUR GOING TO GET THE INFO ONLY TO YOUR APP. then search under symptom .." DO LOTS OF READING HERE ",CLICK ON COSTUMER REPAIRS thats were i found additional info on my problem..now on to the fix.. it stands to reason that on my appy. anyways that if the to parts plug into each other then you should think smart and get both avoid the coming "i told you so, you should have ordered the other part to" didnt cost that much extra... word of advice here .. i have big hands so when " they say" to plug both together then plug into the compressor...DONT!!!! plug the start device in first then plug in capacitor... almost forgot!!!! make sure ALL ELECTRICAL PLUGS AND WIRES ARE CLEAN-NOT BURNT ECT... used a can of electric contact cleaner-NOT ON THE NEW PARTS JUST THE COMPRESSOR AND THE WIRE THAT PLUGS INTO THE CAPAC. .. its just that simple... you will have to let the app. run for at least 24-36 hrs. to get cool enough and stabilize. after that we had to readjust the temp settings a little bit no bigee enjoy!!!!!

My refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling and freezing. A repair technician found corrosion on the connector pins to the refrigerator evaporator fan. He removed the connector and spliced the wires. He told me to leave the refrigerator on for 24 hours to allow it to return to normal operation, which it never did. As a retired electronics tech, I decided to research the problem on your website. I began with the first suggestion to replace the compressor motor start capacitor. I removed it according to your video. It is rated at 12uf. I measured it as 12.1uf when I tested it. Since it tested good, I moved to the next part, the bi-metal thermostat mounted on the freezer evaporator assembly. A paragraph on the website said a resistance test would reveal if it was good. Although the suggested test for warm and cold resistance seemed more appropriate for a thermistor, I performed it and found that it did not display the suggested resistance. I replaced it without achieving any benefit. I have observed that the freezer evaporator fan is not operating. I checked the voltage at the fan connector. It measures 120vac. I removed the fan from the refrigerator and connected to a 120vac power supply. It began operating. At this point, everything on the refrigerator appears to be functional except the compressor. Must the compressor be operating properly before the evaporator fan will operate? Should I replace the compressor start relay, part no. Wpw10197426, on which the start capacitor is mounted or do you think I am on the wrong track?

Hello Bruce, Thanks for your question. We would recommend testing both the start and run capacitors for continuity using a multimeter. Replace either if they do not show continuity. I hope this helps.
