Broke the stem so the nob would no longer work
Turned the power power off. unscrewed two screws under the front face plate with the oven door open. Lifted up and over and the front face plate came off. Unscrewed the 2 screws hold the nob in place and disconnected the wires. Screwed the new one in place and connected the wires. Put the face plate back and turned the power back on.

I'm having difficulty with the right front knob on my cooktop. The knob itself is very loose and it intermittently would turn on the burner. It doesn't work at all now. I was thinking i need a replacement knob but tried the knob on a different burner and it worked. Do you think i need to replace the ignition switch instead? If so, is this something i could do myself or would you need special tools? Would you need to remove the front panel to install a new switch? Thank you!

Hi Karen,
Thank you for your question. Yes, it would more than likely be you would have to replace your switch behind the know instead. You would have to remove your control panel to get at the switch to remove it and install a new one. You should not need special tools. Perhaps a putty knife and the appropriate screw driver. We do not have installation instructions specifically for this part, however this video should show you how to remove your front control panel so that you can get at your switch to replace it. Here you are: https://youtu.be/u2bLjvkJBg4 . Good luck with your repair.

Would the 'infinite switch - front right' work for the left side as well? Thanks.
For model number YKERS807SS00
Hi Chris, you would need PS11747407. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
Hello. My wife was using the right front element when she heard a pop from the knob and saw a reddish glow at the edge of the glass stove top. Smoke was coming out of spindle hole of the knob. Turning on the knob now doesn't make the element work and crackling sound/smoke/burning wire smell emits. Would only a replacement knob be the cure?

The small element is not working (not heating), I was told to change the element, I did, still not working, then I was told to change the infinite switch, I did and still not working. What could it be?
For model number YKESS907SS03
Hello Jorge, Thank you for the question. If the Element and Switch were both replaced with OEM parts and did not fix the issue, we suggest checking the wiring to and from the Element. We hope this helps!

Have received replacement part WP9763761 for my Kitchen Aid stove. Can you identify wire connections on back of switch so I can correctly reconnect wires. Line, Load, Pilot. Not identified on back of switch.

Hi Carlos, thank you for reaching out. We have researched your model and attached a relevant video that might help you with replacing the infinite switch. To remember where each wire goes, it's best to take a picture for reference from the old switch before removing it. We hope this is what you were looking for.
For Model #YKESS907SS00. Right Front cook top not working. Opened front panel and found small red indicator was off. I put into the position and now red indicator is on but still not working cook top. Should i order Burner Element of Infinite Switch. ? Glass top built in electric range.

Hello Kimmy, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, we would recommend testing the Burner Element for continuity with a multimeter. If there is no continuity, we would recommend replacing it, the part number is PS11764908. If that does not help, we would suggest replacing the Infinite Switch, part number PS11747406. If you need help placing an order for it, please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

I have KitchenAir smooth top range and the switch for the right front element sometime work and sometimes does not work. I have to keep turning the switch around for it to work .. and while working sometime it gets off itself. (the red indicator light also goes off).
Do I need to replace the switch ?
thanks,
For model number YKERS807SP00
Hi Kunal, thank you for contacting us. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would recommend you to change the infinite switch, part number PS11747406, to fix this issue. The infinite switch turns the surface element on and off and controls how much heat the element produces. Glad to be of assistance!

Front right burner will flicker on and off and burner is no longer reliable. This is a glass top unit. Is this a switch issue or are the elements shot?
For model number KESS907SSS04
Hello Bill, thank you for writing. The symptoms you have described point to the switch. We hope to hear from you soon.
