How do I remove the evaporator coil heater on model MSD2652KES, Maytag side by side 1 heater core?
For model number MSD2652KES
Hi Edward,
Thank you for your question. Here is some information from our website that a customer posted that may help, "Removed inside panel in freezer compartment. Used blow dryer to melt collected ice on evaporator coil. Removed clips on bottom of defrost heater. Replaced with new defrost heater, re-attaching the clips. Replaced defrost Thermostat with new one. Re-attached inside panel. Now unit works just fine. Really easy job. Defrosting the collected ice took the longest to do." I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The defrost heater indicates series 10. My refrigerator does not have a series number. The serial number starts with 13. Will this part fit my refrigerator?
For model number JCD2295KEP
Hello James, Thank you for contacting us. The series number is the first two digits of the serial number. Some models have different versions of the part depending on the series number, but for this model, the part will fit all models series 10 and up, so it will fit your refrigerator. Hope this helps.

Defrost heater stopped working. Refrigerator side not cooling. Freezer side working fine.

Freezer gets ice on coils and Refrigerator gets warm!!
I defrosted the ice from the freezer coils with a blow dryer and then removed the back panel from the freezer and I change the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat, I believe that being I am a woman and not really knowing what I was doing, (only what I read on PartSelect) that it took me as long as it did...Once I realize what I had to do, it was over in a jiffy....So far the Refrig and Freezer seem to be working fine..
Remove bottom panel in freezer side to get access to the coil.Remove old heater element and defrost thermostat.Installed new hearter and thermostat.Screw back bottom panel re-start frige.
Wrong part, found the problem. Start with the thermostat, controls both when to start and stop the defrost cycle. Not the defrost heater or the timer.

Freezer compartment back wall freezing up.
Replaced both defrost timer & defrost thermostat which were easy to install but did not fix the problem. Just replaced defrost heater last week which so far, has done the trick though by far the most difficult to remove & install. The clips are not very well identified and are quit hard to remove. The heater your instructions identified as the least likely to cause problem and therefore last part I got helped this repair to cost me $140.62 plus shipping!

Easy repair
The only problem I had was with the retainer clips. Just a little tricky. The part fixed my 14 year old Jennair.

Right part, easy ordering.
This heater was just what I needed to put my fridge back to working order. Clipped right back in place. Plugged it in, set the defrost to manual, felt heat from the heater immediately. Thanks for making the parts ordering easy.
