Top agitator didn't engage; timer had dead spots in some cycles
Removed agitator per diagram and determined what real problem was, and simply replaced parts. Timer was a no brainer...it didn't work and the replacement is a single unit repair item.

The washing machine agitates but it won't advance the timer at all it just shuts down and it makes a kind of a little light sounding buzz in the timer switch
