This is a burner surface element and is 8 inches in diameter and 2600 watts. The burner surface element functions as a cooking area on the cooktop of the range. The purpose of this part is to supply heat to the cooking area. This is a 5 turn coiled surafce element that features looped terminal ends. The element is sold individually. Before installing, make sure to unplug the cooktop and to allow enough time for your current element to cool down. The most common reason for needing a new element is if your current one will not heat.

Replaced power burner, burner trays, and electrical socket for power burner
Repair went fine, part replacement was identical. Everything is in working order again. My cooktop is 26 years old.
The new element has a manufacturing defect. This problem was immediately rectified by their salesperson Mary. Another burner element is on its way thanks to the professional and personal help from Mary.

No matter the knob setting, my large right front 8" burner sometimes just jumps to high (red hot) and burns food before I know it. I then turn it off and back on low and it then works for a while without again overheating. Is the burner bad, or the switch. They don't make the switch anymore.
For model number KECG260SBC7
Hi Ted, Thank you for the question. Unfortunately this would be an issue with the switch. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!

Can I move this power burner from the right front to the left rear? The plug-in block is the same and the wiring is the same, but will it still work as a power burner?
For model number KECG260SWH1
Hello Frank, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, you can not move the power burner from the right front to the left rear. Both of these parts have different specifications. We hope this information helps!
