Burner Surface Element - 8 Inch Specifications
This is a burner surface element and is 8 inches in diameter and 2600 watts. The burner surface element functions as a cooking area on the cooktop of the range. The purpose of this part is to supply heat to the cooking area. This is a 5 turn coiled surafce element that features looped terminal ends. The element is sold individually. Before installing, make sure to unplug the cooktop and to allow enough time for your current element to cool down. The most common reason for needing a new element is if your current one will not heat.

No matter the knob setting, my large right front 8" burner sometimes just jumps to high (red hot) and burns food before I know it. I then turn it off and back on low and it then works for a while without again overheating. Is the burner bad, or the switch. They don't make the switch anymore.

Hi Ted, Thank you for the question. Unfortunately this would be an issue with the switch. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!
