Long story short there are two very small holes in the thermostat that hold two very tiny screws, spring activated and one screw while I was looking at the thermostat just fell out in my hand.I put the screw back in the hole and pushed down on the screw with a straight eye glass screwdriver and tighten it. Everything works fine now [just a loose screw].

I have a new thermostat part # wp2161460, which I'm told is a replacement thermostat for my kitchen aid side by side fridge. Question, the wiring on this thermostat has different locations then the original on my fridge now. Can you tell me or show my via a diagram which color wires go where on this wp2161460 thermostat please? I see 4 actual blade locations on this newer thermostat.

Hi Rodney, thank you for your question. You will be testing for continuity. So take your multi meter probes and press them to the appropriate prongs. Once you do that if the multi meter does not change at all or move, then the part is bad and needs to be replaced. Good luck with your repair.
