This igniter, also referred to as an igniter glow bar, is an authentic OEM replacement part designed for ranges. It is responsible for igniting the gas in the burner to produce a flame for cooking or baking. When you turn the knob on your gas range to activate the burner, a signal is sent to the igniter glow bar. The igniter starts to heat up rapidly and begins to glow. Once the igniter reaches a certain temperature, it triggers the gas valve to open, allowing gas to flow into the burner. When the hot igniter and gas meet, a flame is produced. Signs of a faulty igniter include failure to ignite, low or no glow, uneven cooking, and clicking or popping sounds during ignition.

Bottom oven will not heat either regular bake or convection, temp does not go above 100. Does this mean then igniter is bad?
For model number JGB860EEJ5ES
Hello Wendy, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Igniter. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!
