Hi Randell, thank you for reaching out. There is no special technique to snap it in. You just need to line up the tabs and press it in. They do press in rather hard though, so you have to use a bit of force to get them to snap in place. Follow these steps for step-by-step instructions: 1: To replace the control cover on your dishwasher, you will need to pull the appliance a few inches away from the cabinet in order to fully remove the door. 2: Use a quarter-inch socket or nut driver to remove the screws securing the lower access panel. 3: Remove the panel along with any insulation and determine if the power line and water supply line have enough slack to move the dishwasher. 4: Remove the panel along with any insulation and determine if the power line and water supply line have enough slack to move the dishwasher. 5: If not, you will need to shut off the water supply valve then use channel–lock pliers to help unthread the water supply line fitting from the inlet valve to be prepared for some water to spill. 5: Next, use a 5/16th inch socket or nut driver to unthread the screw, securing the junction box cover. Then pull the cover off. 6: Unthread the strain relief nut and detach the strain relief from the junction box. 7: Next, disconnect the drain hose from the sink or garbage disposer and feed it through the cabinet. 8: Open the dishwasher door and remove the mounting bracket screws. 9: Unhook both door cables from the hinges. 10: Disconnect the door wire connecter and detach the wires from the retainer. 11: Now open the door and lift up to remove it from the hinge supports. 12: Use the quarter-inch socket or nut driver to unthread the two lower screws securing the hinges. 13: Slide the hinges out. 14: Now remove the upper screws securing the inner door panel to the outer panel. 15: Slide the inner panel up to detach it. If still intact, lift the old control cover up and push forward to remove. 16: Install the new control cover by aligning the cover tabs with the slots in the inner panel, then snap the cover into place. 17: With the control cover installed, realign the tabs on the inner panel with the slots on the outer panel and slide the inner panel down. 18: Replace the screws to secure the two panels. 19: Reposition both door hinges on the support rails and replaces the screws to secure. 20: Reinstall the door by aligning the hinge pins in the hinge supports. 21: Close the door, then reconnect the door wire connecter and secure the wires in the retainer. 22: Hook both door cables onto the hinges. Connect the wires using the wire nuts. 23: Align the cover and replace the screw to secure. Reconnect the water supply line to the inlet valve. 24: Replace any insulation then reposition the lower access panel. Secure it with the screws. 25: With the repair completed, turn the water supply back on as well as the power and your dishwasher should be ready for use. We hope that helps!
