Handle had stainless steel look but was wrapped in metallic plastic that melted from heat generated by the large gas burner on the stove top.
Removed door from microwave. Pried inside door trim off. Removed 4 small retaining screws then pried inner door section out revealing the 4 screws holding the handle in place. Removed those screws installed new handle using 4 original black screws. Reassembled door in reverse sequence from above. Attached door to microwave and admired my

Does the replacement handle have the metallic look or is it metal.My current one has flaked off from heat of burner below. Very disappointing considering the price of this appliance and the fact that it is only 3 years old. Part # wb15x10267
