I need to replace the plastic display cover. The top half has snapped off than the bottom 2/3 is adherent. How can i remove the old cover safely? Heat or brute force. How does the new cover adhere. Snaps? I can't tell from the diagram. Thanks very much.

Hi Marshall,
Thank you for your question. You will have to use a putty knife or a flat head screw driver to get underneath the left bottom corner of your dispenser area. I would suggest putting some masking tape over the tool to protect your fridge. Once you gently pop your corner out, uses your hands to slowly pull the tabs out that is holding in your dispenser area. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Part mck66585130 membrane for control panel needs to be replaced how to replace membrane on frig.. ????? thanks
For model number lfxs29766s/01
Hello Michael, thank you for your question. To take the dispenser assembly out you will need to remove the drip tray by removing the grate and pulling the tray out past the stops without breaking it. You may have to lift the back of the tray slightly. Using your thumbs push down on the dispenser where you just took out the tray and push with your fingers on the door to pop the dispenser out. So basically push down and pull out at the same time. Once the dispenser assembly is out you remove the control board and you can access the cover assembly to replace it. I hope this helps!
