The door has lost its spring and drops down. What part do i need for this model?

The the plastic of the bottom case that holds the spring was broken. Is the spring of the repair kit with a metal plate and can insert it to the slot of the bottom case?

Does one side of the spring has a piece of metal bracket for attaching to the base? My dishwasher spring holder on the base case are broken. Does it work on shx7pt55uc/04? Thanks.

The plastic broke on the dishwasher and the plastic that holds the rope to the spring, does the metal piece take place of where the plastic piece held the spring to the dishwasher

Hi Tj, thank you for your question. Unfortunately no. The plastic piece is part of the cable however. So getting this part would get you the rope and the plastic piece that attaches it to the appliance. Good luck with your repair.

From the parts diagram it appears this is still using the old style plastic connectors that slide in to the side of the spring coil, as opposed to the new springs that have a metal bracket that sticks out the end of them with a strong attachment for the rope. Is that the case or is this a new rope + spring set that use the updated clasp?

The original plastic and rope in the closing mechanism broke and needed replacing.
Note: The diagram and part description misled me to think that each item was a quantity of one, so I ordered two since I wanted to replace the part on each side of the door. In fact, both the cable repair kit and the guide came with a quantity of two, so have an extra set that I will likely never need. As far as the replacement, it was quick and easy. The hardest part was pulling the dishwasher out from under the cabinet.
The instructions stated to remove the door. I spent an hour attempting to remove the door. That was an unnecessary instruction. all else worked as described. Springs were easy to install. The attachment to the door was difficult. Better instructions on how to grasp the connection to spread the spring to give the cable enough slack to attach the connection to the door.
