SWS1649CS1 Westinghouse Washer - Instructions

Removed old belt. Installed new belt.

1. Turned off water to washing machine.
2. Used plyers to disconnect the hoses at the back of the washer.
3. Unscrewed old inlet valve from back.
4. Opened top panel of washer and disconnected hose running to wash basin.
4. Lifted the old unit out and unplugged electrical wiring.
5. Reverse above and you're finished!
If you're reading this you can probably do the repair.
Saved myself $500+ on a new washing machine. Wife is happy.

old knob was broken so didn't stay on and work so had to use pleris to adjust temperatures when needed but now just put new knob on and we are in buisness and like new again!!! So glad I found your company and had the knob i needed and fast service!! thanks :)

Let me start by saying, I ordered these 2 knobs for my dryer and they came faster than lightning. I was so glad to know that I could order something and have it within 48hours. KUDOS! Onto the actual item, I got the 2 knobs and since it was just the knobs that broke off and not the mechanism itself, I just took the knobs out of the package and put them on the mechanism by pushing on and VIOLA! , I was done!
If I ever need anymore parts for any of my other appliances I will sure use Parts Select and I will sure tell my friends about you guys too!!

I pulled off the broken knob's metal shaft that remained attached to the operating spindle and slid the knob onto the machine.

No tools was required. Last month the knob broke on my washer. I done a Google search and parts select came up. I felt comfortable ordering online from them because of their reputation. I got the part faster than I expected....my wife was happy too!

Removed broken knob and installed the new by hand.

looked at broken starter knob
picked up the replacement knob
put it on the metal stem
and voila!!!!!

pushed on new knob... Really fast shipping!!!!!

just slid the new knob and that was it.I have say about PartSelect.com , it was very easy to place order and next day i rec'd the part. excellent service.

This is a case of not knowing the proper tool to do the job. I went to turn on the machine and the knob broke( common on this machine). The stub of the knob fell into the machine. Thought that the access plate was put on with screws. I saw that the hole was similar to an allen hole. I couldn't get the screws out so called a repairman. He spent 10 minutes, charged me $65 and then told me that most newer appliances need a tool called a robertsons screw driver to get the screws out without stripping them. I felt like a dope, a $4 tool could have saved me $59. A word to the wise, learn what tools do the job and this won't happen to you. JT

Just push the new knobs on slot. Very simple process. The best part is that it was relatively cheap and the shippping to my home was fast. Thanks.

Opened the package, pushed on the knob. FIXED! YEA, no more pliers!

After receiving the part, I easily replaced it. I didn't need any tools and it took less than 2 minutes to fix. Also, the dryer seems to be working better altogether. Basically, I just inserted the knob where it was before.
