Element burnt out
I killed the circuit breaker to the oven, then double checked with an electrical tester. I removed the oven door for easy access, unscrewed the element bracket screws, plugged in the new element and then I reversed the steps above.
I am very happy with PartSelect and will use them in the future for all my appliance parts needs.
Was waiting on my friend's boyfriend who is a contractor to switch this knob out but figured it out myself. It just slides on and off with no tools. I am so proud of myself for completing the repair all by myself on my 37 year old oven. My other knob just cracked and I was afraid the inside of the knob was damaged but it is not. Working like a charm now.
removed old burner. 2 screws. disconnected connectors and reconnected new burner screwed back in place. turned on stove worked first time. perfect fit. 15 minutes total repair time. item arrived promptly and at half the price of the Whirlpool website.
The part came as promised & and it was exactly the right part! I turned off the breaker to the oven (the oven has a clock and timer on it too). Unscrewed the 2 screws with a Phillips screw-driver and carefully removed the old part - being very careful to be safe and not make a big mess. It was easy to disconnect the wires and get the old element out. Then connected the wires to the new element, placed into position, screwed in the 2 screws, and turned on the breaker. It worked great. Then set the clock because it was 13 minutes slow!
Ordering the part online was easy. It arrived in a timely manner. I found a terrific video online showing how to install the terminal. It was so easy. Thank you for the great instructional video.
Really easy repair. Take two screws out, unplug two wires. remove old element, reverse steps with new element. Part arrived in two days, it was the best price I found also.
I tokk two srews out, pulled element out, disconnected wires, put wires on new element, put screws back in, turned the breaker back on , now oven heats up fine.
Thanksgiving one week away oven broke. I ordered parts on line and was ready to cook our turkey. Ordering on-line saved my Thanksgiving! We were so happy
Removed the 2 screws in back of the oven that hold the element in place. Pulled the wires out and removed the element. Attached the new element and inserted the screws.
Heard a crackling and popping noise when I turned on the oven
After figuring I'd have to buy a new oven, I figured out that it was the lower baking element. When I received the new part, I removed the two screws holding the element on. Gently pulled the element off the back oven wall and removed the wire connectors. Put the new element in place - rehooked the wire connectors and it works like new. The light bulb replacement was as simple as screwing in the new light bulb. Thanks, saved me alot of money.....
turn off electric breaker, unscrew the 2 screws unplug the 2 ends replace old element with new repeat previous steps but unfortunately the control panel was also failing and that item has been discontinued.
