A burnt out bulb
After opening the Oven door, I removed the glass cover to view and locate the bulb, at the inside, top front of the Oven. Removed the burnt out bulb by pulling it in a forward motion towards the front of the Oven, slid the new bulb into place and the Oven is again functional.
This item was listed as fitting my GE wall oven. On arrival it appeared to be the exact part I needed. However upon my attempt to install it I found that the attached male electrical connector was very slightly different from the original part and it would not fit the female connector. At first I thought perhaps I could make a slight modification to the male connector but soon realized that the changes needed were too difficult to make. I tried to locate a matching female connector but no luck. Therefore I decided to use a terminal disconnect tool to unlock the wires from the connector and then I re-used my old connector. It worked! My wall oven is now operational again and my wife is very happy! P.S., I have been very happy with Parts Select for the availability of old parts and their superb instructional videos. They have helped me make several appliance repairs and are now my first choice
Removed the top and back covers using a nut driver. Removed fan which is on top of the unit. Installed fan sensor board on new fan using torx bit (board can also be swapped from the old fan if you feel this isn't part of the problem). Installed new fan into oven and replaced the covers. I built a small table out of scrap wood I had making it the same height as the bottom of the oven in order to make it easy to slide out/in and then work on it. If I didn't do this it would have to be a two person job because the oven is heavy.
This item worked as described. I paid more for this 'oem' probe than the generic 1 because i didn't want to chance it not working as others have reported. - works great. tested it....snaps in, reads correctly, snaps out.
