first called made appointment for a repair person to come to house , never showed or called , called them again waited all day again no show no call, then got on line to partselect, started describing the problem and order the parts watch the repair video and all done working great thanks to partselect ,ps,saved a lot of money

Couldn't believe how complicated this part is with heaters. It is used in at least a billion refrigerators and functions well. But I had to tear it all apart to adopt it. Got it all done and stayed awake all night for waiting for Ice. Nothing! Then a Erika moment! Turn the ice arm full switch off! Then Ice poured out every hour. Expecting many years of ice. Thanks for speedy delivery especially before Christmas..

Getting a new lower hinge pin, fixed the problem.

The repair was a lot easier than I thought. I first ordered the ice-maker part from PartSelect. Followed the instructions from the how-to video and I was done within 30 minutes. Unplugged the fridge, took out the two 1/4" nut screws holding up the ice-maker, disconnected the wiring harness and then re-attached the new ice-maker in reverse order. Had to use some of the parts from the old ice-maker, like the cover, ice wire (the wire that moves up and down, letting you know when the ice box was full or starts the ice-making process) The whole process along the PartSelect video made it easy.

First of all, I am a woman and I don't have a lot of tools but I do like to try to fix things on my own before shelling out $ for a professional repair. I found and followed their YouTube video to fix the fridge. To begin with (before I even ordered the part) I needed to find out if it could be something other than the actuator pad that needed to be replaced so I took everything apart (pretty easy) and checked to make sure that the 'Limit switch' was clicking and able to be depressed by the tip of the actuator pad (the actuator pads connects with the Limit Switch which activates the ice flow). It did click. So I figured the Limit Switch was not the problem so I put everything back together and ordered the actuator pad. When it arrived I was already a pro at knowing what needed to be done. I had it replaced in about 15 minutes and its working great!! Thank you so much for your videos on You Tube. I wouldn't have known what to do. You saved me a bundle of money!! Blessings to you all.
