Heat sensor went out causing oven to shut down.
Cut off the electricity at the junction box. Removed two screws from the sensor at the back of the oven. Then pulled the sensor with the wire out of the installation hole in the back of the oven. Disconnected the quick connect plug from the sensor and reconnected the new part. Reversed the process and screwed the two screens back into the oven wall. Turned the electricity back on and started up the oven. (Everything ran well for about three days when the oven again signaled "F-5" indicating the oven was again not functioning properly. Restarted the oven and is currently running properly. My spouse does a lot of baking with this oven for cookies, roasts, etc. Next time it fails I will be forced to call a repairman as I believe there is something wrong other then the heat sensor.

Broken door handle
I see that I bought these parts almost two months ago, but I didn't have time to do the repair until last night. Last night, I couldn't get the door off. Maytag said to put it in the broil position and pull straight up. No go. I couldn't figure out what was holding it. I pulled on it several times but I have enough repair experience to know: DON'T FORCE IT. So, I looked all over on websites. Then, late last night I noticed two chrome brackets (nowhere mentioned) with a single screw on each. I removed those brackets and out came the door. It was past my bedtime. This afternoon, I took apart the door and cleaned it. Then, I put the handle on consistent with the diagram and noticed that the new handle REQUIRES A SHEET METAL SCREW, not a machine screw, as I had ordered. So, I measured the hole with a drill guide and used a wooden match as a depth gauge and got screws and washers that fit tight from Lowes. After that, it took a half hour to get it back together. It works fine now. . I originally installed this oven myself, too.

Gas smell and oven won't get hot, or takes too long.
I turned off the gas supply and unplugged the power source first. Then I removed the old igniter, by removing the plug wire clip from the back of the stove. I then removed the oven door by simply sliding it up and off the track. Once the oven door was removed I could easily access the igniter after removing the heat shield at the bottom of the stove. I had to remove two screws that mount the igniter. I had a little problem removing one screw, because it was stripped, so I had to use my Dremel tool to cut off the screw. Once it was removed the igniter was easily replaced with the new one. My wife and I was really excited that the fix worked! Saved me hundreds of dollars. Money I used for the holidays. Thanks Part Select!

Outer Oven Door Glass had Broke
I removed the oven door by sliding down the locks, while door was open. Close oven door halfway then lift off the hinges very simple. Lay door on flat surface, remove bottom bracket (4screws) replace double sided tape on edges place door ontop of tape replace bracket (4screws) and put oven door back on slide locks up. Hopefully you remember to clean the oven door before replacing it so there are no fingerprints on the inside ;)

Oven was not preheating properly and was not reaching the desired programmed temp
Fisrt, I removed the oven door by opening partially and lifting it up. It made it much easier to do the job. After removing the racks and bottom oven pan, I removed the two nuts holding the old igniter in place and then unplugged it from the wiring connector. Replaced the new one in the opposite order and BAM!, I was done. Five minutes, maybe...Nothing to it. I ordered the short oven sensor also, but didn't need it. Will just keep it on hand for possible future use.

Replacing a faulty temperature sensor
My first suggestion, after turning off the power to the unit, is to take the oven door off. Two simple screws and it's off! It makes getting to the temperature sensor much easier. I also moved the oven out so I could get access to the back to remove the rear panel. The ordered part came with two pigtails, neither of which fit my oven wiring harness. I cut one of them and the wiring from the faulty sensor, spliced them together with wire nuts and made my own connection harness. The new sensor went in with little effort. The wiring went together flawlessly with the spliced connection protected between the oven cavity and rear panel. Reattached the rear panel and the oven door, then slid the oven back into place. Turned on the electricity and back to normal! Problem resolved!!

gasket needed replacement on exterior oven door
first the part was ordered but found it way too overpriced. went to an automotive store and bought door edge molding for a lot less. and it was better quality that the original gasket. with the self stick interior of the door edge molding was a fast and simple repair and more secure.
