Easy fix for a broken door latch
Removed the screws that attach the inside of the door, keeping them in order. Two are longer. The part is loose at that point and the wires un clip with a little pull with a needle nose. Replaced with the new part, re screwed and good as new. oh and turned off the breaker before disassembly.

The dishwasher door wouldn't open
I removed the screws from the inside of the door that mount the inside panel to the door frame. The latch assembly is mounted with 2 of these screws. I disconnected the wires on the old latch assembly and installed them on the new assembly. Note: the connectors are color coded and need to go on the correct side of thelatch assembly. Then put the assembly into place on the door frame. Then I replaced the inner panel using the screwsw previously removed. I then tested the latch-works perfect. Thanks Partselect.com...you are the best!!!

Switch worked but latching part broken.
First i shut off power to the machine. Removed inside door cover. I broke the old plugs trying to pull them off old switch. Then used long nose pliers to pull wires out of old switch plugs. Used long nose pliers to plug wires into new switch plugs.Getting wires out of old switch plugs was the hard part. The rest was easy. Worked like a charm.

door handle was broken/plastic
Removed all the screws (appx ten) which hold door liner to door. Removed the door handle assembly and disconnected the two electric plugs which had one on each side. Replaced with new part from your store reset electric plugs and then reconnected liner to door, The parts blueprint you have online did help with ordering the correct replacement and if another problem occurs I am sure I will be back to look for the repair part. Thanx

Plastic door handle broke
This repair was very easy. First the eleven torx head screws were removed form the panel. the panel was then raised to expose the old handle and door latch assembly. I then took a pair of needle nose pliers and disconnected the two wires (one at a time), replaced the assembly, put the panel back in place and screwed the panel back in place.

The plastic part of the latch you must push to open the dishwasher broke.
I looked up the part number for the latch assembly on the internet, part mumber 2180046, Latch handle(handle and door latch complete assembly with switches-white). Upon receipt, which was within 4 days of ordering it I installed the latch assembly. To install the latch assembly I had to remove 11 screws, using a nut driver with a #25 star bit attached, This allowed me to remove the inside of the dishwasher door to gain access to the latch assembly. The latch assembly had two double pronged electrical connectors attached, one on each side of the assembly. I found them very difficult to pull off, but they finally came off.
When you do this you must take careful note as to the the positioning of these connectors so you can reinstall them to the new latch assembly correctly.
After attaching the electrical connectors to the new latch assembly I ensured it was in the proper position as I reattached the inside of the door with the 11 screws previously removed. The new latch was relatively easy to install and it works prefectly. Our 1980 Matag dishwasher is now back in operation, working as well as it did when it was new.

Plastic holding hinge pins on latch cracked
Removed inner door panel (after finding correct tool) attached the wires to new latch and replaced latch and inner door. Very easy. Note we did place small amount of epoxy around new hinge pin plastic sleeves so it won't break again.

Original door latch broke
After turning off the power source to the dishwasher, I took off the front panel using a hex wrench and removed the old handle and door latch assembly. I removed the side parts that connect to the electric from the new assembly (sorry I don't know exactly what they're called) and snapped the old ones into place on the new assembly (there was absolutely nothing wrong with those parts). I screwed the panel back on and the repair was complete. It really couldn't have been much easier.
