Original part was broken
Probably from hanging on a tall item as the upper rack was pulled out. One of the retaining tabs was broken and the rotating arm would not stay in place.

Wrong color
We have a black dishwasher. The old black latch handle was broken, so I couldn't reuse it. But the only colors available for the new assembly were white and bisque. But the bisque handle isn't too objectionable.

Broken latch on dishwasher
Read the reviews before ordering the part, when it arrived I shut off the circuit breaker, took the screws out ( 11 ) lifted up the inner panel and placed a book between the panel and door which gave me an opening of about 3". which is all you need to remove the handle from the door, disconnected the two wire connectors, and installed the new handle, flipped the breaker and bingo, done. My wife was in the other room for about twelve minutes, when she came out I told her the dishwasher was fixed, she said no way. The part was priced well, delivery time was unbelieveable, 2 days, saved me a lot of money, I was thinking about buying a new dishwasher, glad I didn't. Thanks you guys. T.D. Tennessee

Broken door latch handle
Replacing the handle went smoothly. Only problem was of my own making when I closed the door after the inside panel was loose. The door locked closed and I broke the latch trying to open the door. So I replaced the complete door latch assembly and the handle.

door handle broke in half
Piece of cake, 'even for a girl.' Removed the screws holding on door panel, used pliers to remove two electrical connections (throw the breaker first!)because they were so tight. Hooked up the new assembly, re-assembled door panel with screws, and that bad boy started right up. So proud to avoid a $150 service call with a $22 part!

Unit would not turn on.
After checking the door switch I found the micro switches were working but the unit would not start on the control panel. Thinking the latch was worn, I ordered a replacement. After changing the replacement latch and switches that came with it, the unit would still not start. I checked the switch and it is making contact. I can start the unit after I close the door using the handle of a pair of pliers. So I assume the control board is bad, due to the fact that it will not initialize the control panel until the door is closed. Now I have ordered a control board and will replace...stay tuned!!

Plastic Latch Handle had broken
I removed the screws from inside the door and separated the inner and outer panels. The latch assembly was easy to access, however, the wires were almost impossible to removed from the switch. I ended up swapping out the old switches with the wires attached for the new ones. The unit seems to work just fine. Would like to know if anyone has found an easy way to removed the wires from the existing switches.
