Removed shelf that rails were mounted to. Used a std phillips screwdriver to loosen screws attaching the rails, three per side. Removed damaged rails, lined up new rails and tightened screws. Returned shelf to refrigerator and inserted tray on the new rails.
Just unscrew screws from old rails (still in refridgerator ), and screw them into new rails. We tried to order these parts from another online part site and we got the wrong parts. Partselect.com had drawing of our fridge and it was very easy to navigate through the web site. Thank you!
Motor wouldn't work to turn the fan to keep fridge cool.
I am a woman and I did this in about 10 mins. I turned off the water, disconnected the water line, took the back off the fridge, disconnected the motor plug and unscrewed the fan. It took a little maneuvering to get the fan out but once I did it was a breeze. Opened up back door that housed the motor, took the motor out and put in the new one. Put everything back together and it's working great. Very fast shipping so don't pay for the expedited way to ship. I ordered Sunday night and it was in my door by 10:00 Tuesday morning.
The fan motor is easy to replace after the lower cover on the back of the refrigerator is removed. There is a drain tube (1 screw) that has to be removed in order for the fan support to be removed.
Ice tray was bent and spilling water onto ice making it freeze
I took the ice out with one screw and took out the old tray the new one slipped right in and I hooked up the little heat strip with one snap works perfect cost $10 I was told by appliance repair tech that I needed to replace the ice maker for $450 saved $440 dollars replacing the bent or warped ice tray
I replaced the ice maker assembly and the ice container auger assembly. Installation was fast, considering that I was able to look at how the old unit was installed and simply copied what I saw. The parts were the exact same which made installation easy. There was only one screw that needed to be removed inorder to take the old unit out. The new unit is easily put back in it's place, and the one screw put back in. This was the quickest and easiest, "do it yourself" job, that I have ever done. Thanks for everything Part select.
Water and Ice dispensing just stopped working. Also Ice trap was broken.
Water valve replacement at back bottom right. Removed, water supply line and old valve with 1 screw and removed clips from hoses. Replaced with new valve and re-clipped hoses. Easy fix! Cleaned coils and back with blower and vacuum cleaner while I was in there too. I also had leak in water supply line, replaced. Ice trap door replacement was a little more challenging. Hard to get off the ice dispenser funnel (Part# 278D). Has 4 lock clips on it and 1 broke when I took it off. This part# 278D is not available from part select?? Tricky to replace the trap door itself. Have to make sure the door valve sits in solenoid correctly. Installed wrong the first time and door would not open/close. Had to go in and reset orrectly. Works like a charm now. Still need part# 278D!!
Each time we've had to move we have to remove the doors from the fridge to get it thru the front door.since water and ice run thru the freezer door there are 2 tubes that connect at the bottom of the freezer door that aren't meant to be separated very often if ever.it's easier to cut the tubing on b
With alot of elbow grease and a pair of pliars we managed to get the old connector off wo cuttig the tubing as the tubing was getting to short from being cut once to many times & there was no more play in the length.Original connector was a different color and shapped slightly different than the new one so was a bit concerned that I had ordered the wrong part but it went one very easily & did not leak. We even managed to remove it again just to see if it was possible wo cutting again. it came off with no trouble.I would say the replacement part was a better fit than the original simply because we could remove it easily wo having to cut the tube!
My ice maker overflowed water and made a mess in the freezer
The part was extremely easy to replace. The unit came out with one screw, and I had to unplug the wire connection. After removing I noticed the ice tray was cracked - that's what caused the problem. The new unit went in easily with 1 plug in connection and 1 screw. I was done in less than 10 minutes.
