LHE5800W1 Whirlpool Dryer - Instructions

I thought it might be a damaged switch but when I removed it I noticed a metal clip that was attached to it was broken. The pin on the door pushes against this clip when the door is closed which in turn opens the circuit on the switch. I looked up the model on this website and viewed the parts diagram. There I saw the part I needed and it was listed below along with the cost. Couldn't of been easier. Thanks!

I noticed that the dryer door switch actuator spring/lever was broken on the door. I researched how to get the top of the dryer cover off, and I took apart the mechanism. I called a local repair shop and they wanted me to buy the whole unit instead of just the switch lever. So I did some research to find the part on the web, and I came across your site. It was very easy to navigate, and I fould the part easily. I saved about 66% by just ordering the lever and not the whole unit. I would without hesitation, buy parts from your website again. I followed the video provided by PartSelect. It pretty much went exactly like the video said it would. I was pretty sure the belt or idler pully must be the culprit, but I didn't even know how to open the thing up until I saw your video. I would likely still be putting up with the squealing without that video. Now the dryer is nice and quiet. -Mike

I followed the excellent video instructions for dryer drive belt replacement. The tensioner proved to be a little tricky. I also had to fiddle the drum back into position. Now that I've actually done the repair, it would take half as long if doing it over.

Replaced the heating element. Everything copacetic.

actually your site was very helpful in describing each part that i chose to replace. one helpful hint to someone when installing the dryer pulley is to use the parts box to hold up the drum when installing.it seemed to be the perfect size. great site!

simple replacement

The dryer would make a loud humming noise and the seize up. I would reset the breaker and the dryer would run briefly and then seize up. I opened the dryer and cleaned out all the lint on the motor but it did not help. I spun the motor shaft and felt like a bearing inside had failed. I watched Steve in the video-he was awesome and made it all simple- and ordered the correct parts. I decided to replace the rollers, belt, and pulley as well as the motor. The repair is very easy-and worth it- EXCEPT one piece of advice. BUY the blower fan that attaches to the motor. Mine did not come off easily like in the video. The plastic shaft deteriorated under pressure from the wrench. I was forced to use a heat gun to melt/then cut the blower fan from the motor. It was not easy but don't let it deter you from the repair. I used a table vice but never could remove the remanents of the blower fan shaft from the motor. The repair was a snap after that. Great site for parts and help.

Took off the back panel of the dryer. Removed the screw holding the drying element in only to discover it would not fit out the bottom of the case holding it because it was too close to the bottom of the dryer. Had to take off the top of the dryer and remove the casing, remove the element, replace it and put the casing back. Not too difficult, only two wires and one screw. Did make a couple of rookie mistakes making me backtrack and redo a few things but nothing major.

Removed top, removed front, laid dryer on back to keep drum in place and replaced belt. Used masking to hold new belt in place while installing. Easy job. Belt was delivered in 2 days. Thanks

We followed instructions in videos from this site and youtube. The repair went smoothly and dryer works great now.

Lifted front top upward, removed two small/long screws holding switch assy. removed two wires, replaced wires on new switch at the N.O and COM tabs, reinstalled switch assy, lowered top down. DU FINI
