Reusable Grease filter was old and worn out.
The Model number could no longer be read clearly on the stove electric grill with a down draft vent system, so all I had was the size and looks of the old grease/air filter. I was very happy to come across Parts Select by way of an amazon.com search. Their web site's design and the parts pictures with detailed descriptions made it easy to find exactly what I needed. The grease filter fit perfectly in no time. I have successfully used my cooking grill again.
Motor (Blower Motor Kit) Part Number: PS1569907 No instructions are included in the package from PartSelect. Disassembly from the main housing was relatively simple. I found that paying VERY careful attention to how the original motor was wired and mounted would pay off in correct re-assembly, conquering motor vibration and rubbing. Most of my project time was spent cleaning the rotating blade wheel from 20 years of grease build-up. On tools, I would have appreciated the inclusion, or availability as an accessory, of a long-stem correct-size allen wrench (used in removal of the fan blade wheel.) The job went well, and probably saved me $200 in service call and labor.

drain jar lids rusted and broken of their mounts
The lids are fastened to the underside of the unit by rivets....3 to each lid. I used a cordless drill and small drill bit to drill through the rivets to remove the old lids and remains of the rivets. The new lids are easily fastened back using a rivet gun ( about $20 in Lowes) using small 1/8th aluminum rivets. No real problems. 1 thing to note is that the drill bit will pass through the old rivet by about 1/4 inch before it comes up against the upper level of the BBQ floor so do not drill any deeper. The aluminum rivets are easy to drill through and you will easily feel when the rivet is drilled through.
the hinge sring broke on one side of the oven door
Remove the screws from bottom of door to gain access to the hinge screws. Remove the bottom hinge screws and then open the door to gain access to the top hinge screws. CAUTION after removing the top screws close the door as far as possible while still griping the sides of the door. Pull up on the sides to remove the door from the stove. The springs are fully loaded if you have the door open all the way and try to lift up (like I did) the hinge will spring back and get your finger. Install the new hinge, put the door back into the oven, install all the screws and then remove the temporary rivet that comes installed in the new hinge.
The 15-year-old Jen-Air stove started smelling really bad. I thought it was a dead animal stuck in the exhaust tube which runs under the floor to the outside. I flushed it out with clorine bleach, but it was still bad. It turned out to the be the grease filter. I washed it every week in the diswasher, but it just was not enough to get it clean enough. Finally, the grease went rancid and smelled really bad. This "repair" took about 30 seconds.
removed blower housing secured to floor with two screws then removed flexible vent pipe from blower housing then removed blower removed blower wheel and motor put new motor and wheel on put back on stove thats it..
To replace the knobs was easy simply pulling the old knobs of and pushing the new knobs on. Replacing the on off lites was a little harder. i had to remove the control box that the knobs were mounted on. follow the wires. One lite for the left side and one lite for the right side. The left side lite was hooked to the two left side controls and the right side lite hooked to the two right side conrols. The wires then went down under the unit to the electrical junction box and wire nutted to the main wires servicing the range. What I didn't realize is that the left front contrlo knob is the only one that controls the fan.It has fan onthe knob. the rest of the knobs are not to have fane on them.I didn't notice this when I made out the order now I have all four knobs that have fan on them.
turned off main ckt breaker, then removed the two leads to the burner unit at the Infinite Switch; set meter to ohms and read 20 ohms. then checked the right hand burner leads, got same reading of 20 ohms. I decided then that the infinite switch was faulty. I then made sure all wiring was in the clear and turned the ckt. breaker back on and CAREFULLY read the voltage at the Infinite-Switch terminals to the burner. No voltage (0). Ordered the part and the grill now works fine. A few words about the assembly/dissasembly: The phillips screws holding the top cover were a bit rusty, as this grill is on our pool deck. When I replaced them i put a bit of high-temp silicone grease in the threads. this grease is used for auto brake service so the grill heat should not affect it. the only difficulty I had on re-assembly was lining up the top cover with the bottom pan to insert the screws.
Plastic lens broken... pilot light not very visible
Shut off power to range. Removed 4 phillips screws under control panel. Tip bottom of control panel up and out to unhook it from the range top. Remove half of old lens piece from slot in bottom of plastic lamp fixture. Insert smaller end of new lens through front of control panel hole. Slide lamp fixture slot over the inside end of lens until it clicks into place. Replace control panel. That's it.
I watched a You Tube video, removed and dismantled the door, installed the new hinge. I forgot to remove the small pin which is similar to a rivet. When I tried to close the door it bent. Eventually, I remembered the shipping pin and pulled it out with any damage. Believe it or not, I had read about the shipping pin on customer comments on PartsSelect...Good luck, it is relatively easy!
Although only one side hinge had snapped, I replaced both sides with new oven door hinges. Followed the website video installation directions and all went well; the new hinges work perfectly.
My daughter & I followed the instructions in your video and had fun repairing the door. The video showed exactly how to do the repair. I hope I don't need any appliance parts very soon but I will certainly pull up your web site if I do. Thanks for an excellent instruction video.
Both door hinges was simply worn out from 20+ years of usage.
Bought a pair for needed door hinges for replacement. Found a DIY video on You Tube showing technique to replace. Door removal was a bit awkward but hinge replacement and door reinstallation was as detailed in video. Could not nor would not have tackled this project without video. Premium quality parts sent and received within days of ordering. Wife happy therefore so am I.
