Broken Knob that holds the meet compartment door on
After watching the Video on how to replace part, I got to work.. Was a piece of cake to do. Just a few screws and the job was done. I figure that I saved about $125 by doing this easy job myself.

Light in the refrigerator didn't work
I did exactly as the video showed. I popped out the old switch, disconnected the two terminals, connected the new switch and put it back. The light now works! The refrigerator is over 25 years old and the switch works! What a great website this is. Couldn't of done the job without Partselect's help.

After several defrost thermocouple replacements, and determining the frig was running constantly, the freezer was not freezing, but full of ice behind the back panel, the frig was not chilling, the entire refrigerator was constantly running, non-stop, and after doing a bit more research on-line, I d
Thanks for the control board. However, it arrived in two days not overnight, UPS noted on their tracking site the error was their own. Also, the part did not come with installation instructions or programming instructions. Found on youtube a video that described in detail the programming procedure: . . . . . very helpful.

Thanks,
Marc

Pivot peg for pantry lid broke off of end cap
Remove pantry drawer, lid, crisper drawers, glass shelf above crisper drawers and shelf holders. Unscrew the 3 hex-head screws that attach the end cap to the side of the fridge. Very carefully pull the end cap away from the side about a centimeter. The end cap is attached to a moving vent piece for the crisper drawers which makes them in to a big L-shape. The vent piece is snapped in to the back panel of the fridge, so those two pieces must be removed together. You need to carefully unsnap the vent piece away from the back panel while holding the entire end cap piece as well. Go slowly and feel your way through it. It is easy if you don't rush. After removing the two pieces that make a big L-shape, detach the vent piece from the end cap piece. Attach the vent piece to the new end cap piece, re-fit it all back into the back panel of the refrigerator and reattach the screws.

Clicking, refrig would not start.
Replaced the CNTRL-ELEC board with ease. Just slide back and remove the light cover. Use flat tip screw driver to release and drop down unit. Remove connectors and attach to new board after breaking in half to fit same as old one. Programming is easy, just look at the CODE on the name plate inside the door. Mine is 0-1. Follow procedure of holding the light switch off while touching the freezer control 3 times within 10 seconds. A "P" for programming will appear. Still holding the light switch, touch the refrig control to set for your code. Freezer button says 0, refrig button says 1. When you release the light switch, the programming is done. Mine starts out with a 4-4. It is now working quieter than when it was new and is very cold again.

Upper refrig. compartment wouldn't get cold enough. Freezer compartment was too cold and compressor was not shutting off.
Found troubleshooting steps for control board (called a jazz board) and ran through the steps. Found the control board (jazz board) was bad. Pull front vent cover where the condenser is off, you will find manufacture manual papers for these steps and for programming of new control board (don't lose these papers for next time). Papers are located under bottom of front right corner of refrig where they are in a bag ( cut bag open and replace back when finished for next time). Replaced board by: 1. Pushing light cover to back to remove 2. Take screwdriver and push on two tabs that hold housing on at each side (will see two holes where they are by looking from behind, with your head inside) push and pull down. There it is 3. Replace board with the tabs that hold it in. (use latex gloves and only touch outside of board, to avoid static electricity to the board. 4. Reinstall and program (Code for your refrig is on cabinet sticker where model and serial no. are) 5. Install a surge protector on the plug for possible surges. Not too bad to install, just finding how it comes out .

Freezer Super Cold, Fridge Hot. Ice on the back of freezer door.
I initially thought the defrost heater or sensor were bad and replaced them. About a week later the problem reappeared. I ordered the control board assembly and after arrival I did the following: Went on-line, located the part on the fridge parts diagrams and figured out how to remove the controller cover (use two flat screwdrivers from behind). After the cover removal unplug the two connectors and lift out the sensor from its mount. Remove the LED Display/Button Board then the microcontroller board. They literally lift out. With the new controller you have to gently break the display board from the controller - the board is scribed along the break-away area. Do this on a flat surface. The actual board installation and hook-up took less than 5 minutes to reassemble. MAKE SURE THE REFRIGERATOR IS UMPLUGGED - I should have said that FIRST.

broken pivot point for pantry drawer lid
after following instructions of previous posters, the hardest part for me was reinstalling the deli drawer lid. I was told it had to flex a little to get it on both hinges but mine didn't flex at all so I put on the left hinge and then put the right hinge on and put the right side pantry end cap in all as one piece. That worked easiest for me.

broken plastic "pin" that holds bottom pull out tray cover
I'm uoset that I sat and looked at the broken piece for a month wondering"what the heck is this going to cost me" The more you spend on the appliance the more they break. The repair was too easy. Remove the 2 drawers, remove the bottom draw and there are 3 nuts you need to back off. The whole piece comes off really easy. I left the drawer glide on and took it off after the whole piece was out. Attach the glide to new piece put it in place and screw it back together. Now gow wash the drawers and glass that you have been putting off and reinstall them. Start to finish 10 minutes,.
