Replaced drum bearing part and white slides.The problem was that it was not the drum slide support. It appears to be the the drum rear bearing of whch I am now ordering. The bearing replacement is a little more difficult, but I have taken this on as a challenge

Actually ordered parts for 2 different Dryers. And I can't thank you enough. I was able to repair my dryer and my mother's dryer. Which is interesting because an appliance repair man had previously told my mother that parts for her dryer were no longer available. Well, we were able to order the parts from partselect and fix her dryer(without the repair man). We were able to save my mom the cost of purchasing a new dryer. Again, thank you. Checked heating element and it glowed so I replaced the ceramic gas valve regulators. 4 screws to take front off the dryer and 2 screws to replace part. Couldn't have been easier but I wouldn't have been able to do it without watching the video first.

Open door of the dryer. Remove two screws pointing upward near top of the front panel then remove the lik. Next remove two screws one on each side of the front panel from the inside. Lift out the entire front panel assembly. Remove wiring using plyers. Write wire color to location using a sharpie on the panel near where the connections are. The blower housing was loose and was simply tightened by replacing the blower clip on the motor shaft and tightening the screw. This can be accessed from the blower opening in the front. To replace the rear bearing, the belt, and the idler pulley the drum will need to be removed. Reach above the blower motor and relieve the belt tension by pushing the tension pully rod toward the drum. You may need to loosen the side panel to help access the belt. Remove screws in front, back, and one on top. Once the belt is loosened, lift drum up and put straight out. The idler pulley can be replaced using plyers. The drum bearing will need a nut driver and someone to help. The extra person will be behind the drum to remove and realign the screws, while the other person is inside the drum. The rear bearing is easier and only requires removing the 4 screws on the mounting panel. Reverse all steps from reassembly.

I went to replace all four of the drum slides but in the process of doing this, found out that the whole of the top support had been rubbed away! I therefore ordered a replacement top support and replaced it per the instructions in the PartSelect webpage and from the youtube demonstration and completed the repair. I had a little trouble with getting the top support installed, but by jiggling it around and persistence I was able to complete the repair. The help I received on the webpage and video were invaluable! Thank you to PartSelect and to the other users for all your help!!

Replaced the drum top bearing,drum slides and felt seal was easy. My husband wanted to buy a new washer and dryer. I thought this might work and was worth a try before making a costly purchase of new appliances. It took only 15 minutes to replace the worn out parts and another 15 minutes to clean all the lint from the inside of dryer. We only had to remove the dryer front panel (4 screws only) we never touched eletric connections and put panel back. WALA like brand new. I'm happy we didn't have to spend $ on a new dryer. Very easy instructional video was great. THANKS

I used these two videos to help me clean the inside of the machine, then change the drive belt.

I'm retired on a fixed income and the last thing i needed to do was buy a new dryer. I got on the internet and googled GE Profile dryer and opened Part Select. The trouble code listing with the probable part replacement was very accurate. I was also able to view a video to show me exactly how to make the repair. I ordered the necessary parts and was amazed at the UPS delivery (next day). The cost of the parts was reasonable, fit perfectly, and now my dryer is running like new. The wife is happy, and when she's happy everyone is happy.

Opened the door and removed 2 screws from inside/top of door. Removed top and then removed 2 screws from back of front panel. Lifted drum slightly to remove front panel and attached new slides.

My dryer was making a grinding noise so I tore it apart using a screw driver, a torks bit and a pair of pliers. It took about 15min to get it appart. I found the idler pully was worn out and broke in 2 pieces. I ordered the new part along with a new belt, since I had it appart, and they arrived the next day. It took about a half hour to put the new parts in and put the dryer back together. Works great now. While I had it apart I cleaned the elements and greased the bearing.

Followed the Part Select video instructions which made the repair really easy!! Thanks for a job well done! ALSO.. the drum wobble was not caused by worn slides and felt. There are three screws holding the drum axle flange. Two of them fell out leaving the drum to flop about as it rotated. So we scavenged some screws from elsewhere on the dryer and problem solved. Once again.. thanks to Part Select for great instructional videos and great customer service ordering parts.

Googled possible problem where noise was coming from. Went to Parts Select web site. Ordered felt and drum bracket. Removed screws behind control knobs and removed top of dryer. Removed two screws on front inside dryer (left/right side) this allowed me to remove front panel of dryer. Unattached wires. Drum bracket is located above door opening...pretty much snaps out, felt piece is located on bottom bracket. Felt piece was replaced and new top bracket replaced. Reattach wires, lift drum slightly to fit doo iInto place. Dryer still made noise. Noticed I did not have any drum slides! Drum slides slide into top of front bracket at 10/2 o'clock position and 11/1o'clock. Easy and very inexpensive dryer repair!! My husband was very impressed that I could take dryer apart and fix!!!
