Gas oven igniter glowed but didn't lite
I removed the cover protecting the igniter. I pulled the stove away from the wall to get at the connect for the igniter. I loosened the 2 screws which held the igniter. Took the new igniter ran the wire to the back to the connection and mounted the igniter with the 2 screws. Turned on the oven to make sure it works and it did. Turned off the oven, replace the cover and pushed the stove back in place. No big Deal! Your web site was very helpful. Thank you so much!
seamed easy enough. Found the part and it looked identical, However I could not see the connector in the picture because the logo covered that part of the picture. Had to cut the connector off the old igniter and crimp it on to the new ingniter.
Smell of gas and would not always light or took forever to preheat
Remove the oven door by opening halfway and lifting door away from stove. Removed racks and bottom pan from oven area exposing the gas bar and vertical mount igniter. Next remove bottom storage door. With phillips screwdriver remove 2 screws securing rear cover plate in back of storage area, accessing the igniter connection, and unplug the plug. Next back in oven, remove 2 5/16 sheet metal screws securing igniter with a nut driver and remove igniter by getly pulling disconnected end thru to oven. Now reverse process, install new vertical mount igniter and push connection down thru to storage area, then reconnect wire connection and put cover plate back on. At this piont I turned oven on and checked igniter, it glowed red right away and the oven lit right up. Put storage door, oven door, bottom oven panel, and racks back in and done. Took 15 minutes tops, and anyone can do this, super easy. My oven would sometimes take half hour to preheat to 350,if it even lit, now 5 minutes, and it lights every time. Save the cost of a repair man folks, this one can be done by any weekend warrior. I would just like to note....if you are uncomfortable with disconnecting wire plugs and plugging them back in, just unplug the oven from the wall as well before changing out the part, just to be safe.
We hired the neighborhood handy man, and he was able to repair the oven in about 15 minutes. I order the part and received it the next day. Excellent Service!!
My stove would take forever to preheat and sometimes it wouldn't heat above 175. I order a new igniter, which was located under the drip pan . It took less then ten mins to replace and the stove is working like new.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wire pull the old igniter out. Install new igniter, by mounting to frame with two screws, feed the two wire assembly through the hole behind the gas tube, reconnected the wires, oven started right up. PartSelect was great, received the part very fast and there feedback comments are a big help.
Oven would not heat. Electronic ignitor (heating element) was not heating/not getting to temperature to open the automatic gas valve.
Make sure the knobs are all in the off position before starting the work. You may feel more comfortable shutting the gas valve off behind the stove or in the basement first, just make sure you fire the burner and let the gas that is left in the line burn off. Remove bottom pan in oven by sliding the pins (located in the back) towards you and picking up the back of the pan and pull it away from you, this will slide the pan off of the other 2 pins that you can not see on your end of the pan. Take the flare shield off from over top of the gas line (should be 2 nuts or 1 wing nut). Remove the screw or screws that hold the heat shield covering the ignitor wires and remove the heat shield. Unplug the ignitor. remove the screws holding the ignitor and remove it. Be sure to order the ignitor with the extra shield and make sure it has new screws, you may need to replace the screws. Try not to touch the element of the ignitor. it can be very brittle. It seems lengthy but is very quick and simple.
First I unplugged the range, turned off the gas to the oven and disconnected the gas line from the oven. I pulled the oven out to gain access to the rear of the unit and unplugged the old igniter. Next, I removed the oven door, removed two screws to the floor of the oven and removed it. I then removed the metal covering above the gas component allowing full access to the igniter. I removed two screws from the igniter and removed it. I positioned the new igniter and replaced the two screws. I replaced the covering over the gas component, replaced the oven floor and put the oven door back on. I went to the rear of the unit and plugged in the new igniter. I then reconnected the gas line to the oven range and checked for leaks, No leaks were found and I pushed the oven unit back into place. I pushed the Bake button and the igniter started igniting the oven.
1. Turn off the gas (propane) 2. Unplug the oven. 3. disconnect the gas line and pull the oven out. 4. remove the back panel to access the igniter. 5 disconnect the igniter. 6. unscrew igniter/gas assembly and remove from oven (two screws). 7. unscrew igniter (two screws) 8. replace igniter with new. 9. reassemble in reverse order. 10. turn on stove. 11. Happy wife, happy life.
I simply pulled the stove away from the wall, disconnected the gas and electricity. Then took the pan out from stove. At which time I used a socket to remove the two srews and then unplugged the part from the back of the stove. After that, reattached the screws, plugged it in, reconnected the gas and electricity, and pushed the stove back against the wall. Fired up the oven and it has worked like a champ ever since!
