CVE407W Jenn-Air Cooktop - Instructions

First I removed a screw that held the element in place then disconnected the two wires . Then I just reattached the two wires put the screw back in place and was done in about 10 minutes. Fairly easy fix, I had this go out a few years ago and had a repairman fix it, and saw how easy it was, so this time I did it myself. Easy job!!

disassemble housing and remove fan and motor. Reatach fan to new motor, connect wiring, place gasket around motor and reassemble.

The 15-year-old Jen-Air stove started smelling really bad. I thought it was a dead animal stuck in the exhaust tube which runs under the floor to the outside. I flushed it out with clorine bleach, but it was still bad. It turned out to the be the grease filter. I washed it every week in the diswasher, but it just was not enough to get it clean enough. Finally, the grease went rancid and smelled really bad. This "repair" took about 30 seconds.

1. Shut the breaker off; Jenn-Air's design will have you working around hot leads if you don't.
2. Raise the control panel
3. Remove burner and unscrew the burner connector; trace the wires back to the control panel bottom and remove them
4. On the replacement connector, add the electrical for the control panel. These are not included and can be found at any hardware store; they are a standard size.
5. Connect the new wires and put everything back together.
6. Reset the break and test.

:-) - Just removed the old one and replace with the new one. Nothing to it. Takes 30 seconds.

removed burner and recepticle and replaced new one. You don't have any place to comment on service, so I'll put it here. I talked to Herb and ordered parts with him on a Monday afternoon. He was very helpful. The part came Thursday about noon and I immediatly installed parts and my wife cooked supper (thats southern for the evening meal) that night. A really wonderful experience. used the supplied parts...very easy. The parts were exact replacements.

We bought the replacement Ceramic plug and wires, and opened up the jennair cooktop piece and rewired the NEW coil guide into the system. It works great.

Took out burner (pulls out) Took out one screw that holds recep. in, cut the two old wires and attached new wires with wire nuts included in the new package.

Pulled out the old, plugged in the new

Simply unplugged the old elements and inserted the new ones.

so easy, just ordered the part, the part came and inserted the element into the stovetop

removed motor, saw that stablizers were broke and went to a local parts supply shop called SUNDBERG and was given a price of about 49.00 for three stablizers. at that point i went to the internet and found PARTSELECT.COM were i found the same parts for a fraction of the price,17.00, i could not believe it! SUNDBERG customer service was horrible.PARTSELECT custormer service is great and was just over the internet,any how the repair is done no more loud noise and wife is happy again ,for awhile.thanks keep up the good work.i tell everybody about you guys.

I removed the old element. I then plugged the new element in place. Simple repair, no tools required. Turned the cooktop element on to test for proper functioning. It heated properly. Repair completed.
