Leaked water as filling
Removed mounting screws
Disconnected file hose
Flipped unit over to remove connecter
(This was the only difficult operation; unpluging & pluging it in)
New part fit was very good
Reversed the disassembly order to install
New assembly had to cycle a while to produce ice cubes. I'm very happy now, so bring on the hot weather.

Ice maker stopped working. Turned out a connection on the heating bar shorted out.
Pulled the plug on the refrig. ( This is important since the heating bar on the bottom of the ice maker could come on as soon as you plug it in and burn your hand ). Removed the ice bin to get it out of the way and then removed the 1/4" hex screw from the support bracket under the old ice maker ( don't lose it ). Pushed up on the old ice maker to dislodge it from the 2 support clips on the top of the ice maker. Squeezed both sides of the wire harness plug and pulled it out and removed the old ice maker. Removed the wire harness and level bar from the old ice maker and installed them on the new ice maker. Plugged the ice maker wire harness into the female receptacle in the freezer. Popped the ice maker in to the top support clips making sure the rubber water chute from the refrig. was in place in the round ice maker receptacle. Plugged bak in the refrig. and I was getting ice in about 2 hours. Working fine after 1 week producing plenty of ice. RussK---

Refrigerator not shutting off, liquids freezing in fridge
It wasn't quite as easy to get to the bolts as the video showed. The lay out of the part wasn't exactly like the video either. However, I managed to put the new part in. Unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem. At first the fridge cycled on and off but after 12 hrs it started to freeze liquids again. Since the appliance was 17 years old we opted to just get a new one.

Fast delivery...Great video instructions..The only difficulty is when I tried to take the cable out. It's kind of hard and far away from my reach. So, I took only the cable out on Ice Maker end.

Ice maker tray in side by side leaked and created large lumps of ice
Unplug refrigerator, turned off water to ice maker, unscrewed bracket, lifted ice maker off clips, pulled out water hose, disconected wiring harness and lifted out old icemaker. Reversed the process and it worked like a breeze and no service call. Space is very tight and you have to do a lot of feeling without actually seeing what you're doing and you need a small flashlight. It was so easy with diagram provided on PartSelect's website.
