Ice Maker Stopped Working
Tough part was diagnosing the problem: bad water inlet solenoid, frozen inlet line, bad ice maker motor, or door opening sensor? Went to a parts shop & discussed the problem with the serviceman. He said you just need to sequentially replace each part. No way say I, that could cost $300 with a no-part return option.

I decided to replace the motor...Eureka!! It worked.
The underside of the ice maker cartridge has a plastic snap clip on either side of the cartridge. You need push each up, pull the left side of the cartridge out part way & disconnect the electrical connector on the right side(left..you facing the refrig.) With the cartridge out simply remove the 5 screws from the motor plate of the left side & replace with the new one.
Very simple. Slide the cartridge back in the frig. until the 2 snap clips click. Voila...you done! Cost $86..not $300. Apparently the motor is too weak to do the job & burns out quickly. Manufacturer should correct this defect.

Gear in Ice maker had broken
Pretty easy to replace, once you find the screws. One of them you can see on the bottom. The other two you have to feel for. Completely remove the screw on the bottom, that you can see and then loosen the two you have to feel for. Once everything is loosened, left the icemaker up and it will come free. Move it out and unplug the power cord. Make sure the power is off before you start this project. Use a small flat screwdriver to hold down the tab so the power cord will detach. Reverse the steps to install the new one.

Ice mold leakage
The first thing I would like to say is thank you Parts select for a very fast delivery. It was within 24 hours I received my component. The installation went very well. The main thing is to take each part off the old mold, one at a time and install it onto the new mold. Make sure to look at each part as it is mounted to the old mold and re install them the exact same way. Just be gentle with some of the plastic pieces because they are fragile in certain areas. It will take a few hours for everything to start working properly. Thanks again Parts select. Good luck and God Bless.

The ice dispenser would not work
I pulled the cover off the icemaker and water dispenser in the front door. Unplugged the wires, pulled out the old control bracket, put the new one in, reconnected the wires, put the cover back on. Everything works fine now. All it was was a broken piece of plastic that would not trigger the switch to run the ice dispenser.

Just like the video. Had to remove the extra valve as it was not needed. When I removed the larger tube could see where the water was leaking from as tube did not fit tightly like the others.

Valve was leaking into ice maker
Followed on line instructions when searching for repair of water inlet valve for Kitchenaid refrigerator. Perfect instructions and an easy fix.
Pulled fridge out. Turned off water supply. Removed cardboard backing on bottom rear of fridge. Removed old valve on right hand side. Removed hoses by pushing in on the rings and holding then pulling out hoses. Installed new valve being sure to push hoses the whole way into vale. Turned on water to check for leaks then replaced cardboard. About 20 minutes total.
Keep some towels ready for the water that comes out of the hoses. Don't worry about matching hoses, they are different sizes and easy to identify. I recommend removing the entire cardboard backing of the fridge so it is kept in good condition.
