Dishwasher door hard to open
Simple repair. First and most important: Turn off the power at the circuit breaker panel. Next, remove 8-9 torx head screws holding the inside panel on the door. Pull the handle assy. away from the door and unplug the two electrical plugs from the handle. Mark or remember which side each goes on. Plug the two electrical plugs into the new handle assy. and place in back into it's position in the door and reassemble the door panel. Turn the power back on at the breaker box.

Dishwasher door was hard to unlatch
Unfortunately I’d done this repair before. It seems that this particular part has cheap plastic components inside and seems wear out every 2 or 3 years. The fortunate thing is PartSelect stocks this part, ships it quickly and it’s an easy repair. Just take the screws out of the inner door liner and pull out the latch, disconnect the wires and reconnect to the replacement and screw everything back like it was. Took me 10 minutes.

Broken latch handle
Remove the 11 screws holding the inner door cover on, and separate the cover from the door (A wadded up towel works great). The latch assembly pops right out. I could not remove the wire terminals from the switches, so i removed the switches from the old part and used them in the new part. The new part popped right in. Make sure the latch screw holes are aligned properly and replace the 11 screws.

The top track rail broke so had to replace with new ones so we could slide the top rack in and out.
First emptied and removed the rack from the dishwasher. then removed the broken track rails. and the end posts from the broken track rails. Put one end posts in the track rail and then placed track rail onto rack and placed in the washer. Then placed the other end posts so the track rail would stay in place when pulled out.
That was it

Door would not open/latch pivot pin broken.
After prying open the door i removed the inner skin cover which did provide me access to the latch assy,2 additional screws and it was fixed.

This appears to be a problem with this apliance since it has done this before while under warranty

start button stopped working on my dishwasher
Turned power to dishwasher off. I had to unscrew 9 screws that hold the inside of the door on. This exposed the latch assembly I was able to disconnect the wires (had to tug quite a bit). Plugged wires back into the new assembly and fit it into place. Screwed the screws back on turned power back on and it worked. Yeah I fixed the dishwasher for under $30.

It was too easy.
Matching the part I had in my hand with the picture online was a cinch. Rec'd the latch in a few days, and installed it in minutes. Why did I wait so long to look it up and order? At least the kids think I'm a hero for fixing the dishwasher!

Wouldn't open - latch broken
Removed 8-10 screws holding door inside and outside together. Latch assembly came loose at that point. Slightly pinch microswitch terminals to pull from connectors on wire harness. Connect the new latch assembly to the wires. Position switch back in door. Screw door back together.

door beginning to be difficult to latch and unlatch
Removed torx screws from inside door cover, then removed 2 torx screws that held the latch assembly on. Removed 4 wires from the 2 microswitches....wires are very difficult to pull off. Installed in reverse order making sure the proper color wires go to the correct microswitch. Probably the simplest, easiest repair job I've ever done.

dishwasher handle was broken
Although I might have been able to replace just a single peice to effect this repair, I chose to replace the entire door latch assembly. Just took off about a dozen torx screws from the inside of the door which then revealed the latch assembly. Simply remove two electrical cnxns off the old latch, replace onto the new latch, replace the dozen screws and you're done. Talk about saving money. Oh, these guys had the part to me in less than 48 hours wiith no extra shipping charge and their schematics on the web site made it easy to determine what I needed.

Latch broke so the door would not open
I unscrewed the 8 screws that hold the inner door panel to the outer door. The latch is held in place by two slots in the upper control panel. I pulled the latch free of the control panel, uncliped the two sets of wires, replaced with the new part in the reverse order. It was so easy I now understand why the Maytag repairman doesnt have anything to do. Its not that the Maytags dont break down, its just that with the availability of parts from Parts Select. com, who needs them.
