Ice Maker stopped making ice. A clicking sound was coming out of the unit.
I removed the ice maker unit completely from the freezer, following a Utube repair video that I found. I originally thought it was just the control board that was defective, because on examination, found a burned-out copper trace on the board, as well as a burned-out plastic connection point. Installing the new parts was a breeze. This icemaker is pretty foolproof, with plastic tabs that line up with the housing. a matter of lining up the screw holes was all that was necessary. Only problem I had was attaching a plastic cover that shields the electrical connection from the water. Once all was installed, I had to wait overnight for the icemaker to make ice. We've had ice ever since! Thank you Partsselect for very courteous and fast service!

Icemaker stoped making ice.
There are two tabs that hold the icemaker to the rails it sits on. I use a small screwdriver and pushed the tabs up to release the tray and slid the Ice maker out. the cover over the control motor just pops right off. Then I removed three screws from the control motor pulled it off and put the new on, replaced the screws and put the cover back on and slid the icemaker back into the rails. I shut the freezer door and within the five minutes it took me to put my tools back in the garage, it was dumping ice. Very easy to fix. You do not need to remove the screws that hold the icemaker to the tray.

Ice maker stopped making Ice
Turned off the icemaker and took out the hex screw at the back of the unit that held the cable guard. The ice maker was easy to slide out after releasing guide locks on each side of the unit. Pulled the unit forward and released the electrical connection. With the unit on the cabinet, I removed the motor housing cover. Took out the 3 scews holding it in place and the old motor was out. Just reverse the steps putting the new one in. In an hour or two we heard ice dumping into the holder.

Clicking, refrig would not start.
Replaced the CNTRL-ELEC board with ease. Just slide back and remove the light cover. Use flat tip screw driver to release and drop down unit. Remove connectors and attach to new board after breaking in half to fit same as old one. Programming is easy, just look at the CODE on the name plate inside the door. Mine is 0-1. Follow procedure of holding the light switch off while touching the freezer control 3 times within 10 seconds. A "P" for programming will appear. Still holding the light switch, touch the refrig control to set for your code. Freezer button says 0, refrig button says 1. When you release the light switch, the programming is done. Mine starts out with a 4-4. It is now working quieter than when it was new and is very cold again.

Upper refrig. compartment wouldn't get cold enough. Freezer compartment was too cold and compressor was not shutting off.
Found troubleshooting steps for control board (called a jazz board) and ran through the steps. Found the control board (jazz board) was bad. Pull front vent cover where the condenser is off, you will find manufacture manual papers for these steps and for programming of new control board (don't lose these papers for next time). Papers are located under bottom of front right corner of refrig where they are in a bag ( cut bag open and replace back when finished for next time). Replaced board by: 1. Pushing light cover to back to remove 2. Take screwdriver and push on two tabs that hold housing on at each side (will see two holes where they are by looking from behind, with your head inside) push and pull down. There it is 3. Replace board with the tabs that hold it in. (use latex gloves and only touch outside of board, to avoid static electricity to the board. 4. Reinstall and program (Code for your refrig is on cabinet sticker where model and serial no. are) 5. Install a surge protector on the plug for possible surges. Not too bad to install, just finding how it comes out .

Stopped making ice
I order the suspect part before pulling out the ice tray and whole ice maker for inspection. As it turns out my ice tray was peeling and all gunked up and I needed a new one. I suggest in the case of ice maker issues that you pull the entire ice maker before ordering what appears to be the troubled part. I had to replace the whole ice maker which was not really that much more money than just the part.
