Ice dispenser door replacement
My part was received in only 3 days. It was exactly what I need. The directions sent with the ice door were really simple to follow. Within 30 minutes my family was back to getting ice from the refridgerator door. Nobody wants anything to tear up, but I hope if I do have troubles in the future, it's something that partselect carries parts for. These days it's hard to find a business that gives you want you want, quickly, for a fair price. If you were a movie I would give you two thumbs up. Thanks for making this a good outcome and not just another headache!!

Ice door tab broke off
The parts just arrived -- wow, I think I've found my favorite parts supplier!!!

Ironically, I had jury rigged a new tab on the ice door by inserting a screw into where the tab snapped off, but it didn't work! As I was taking it apart this time, I realized that the solenoid spring had become unclipped. However, it's nice to have it all back together again and working with new parts!

Thank you -- great packaging, the parts look fantastic, and a great sheet of instructions! I've already repaired my refrigerator (only took about ten minutes) and it's up and running!

Thank you!!

Door flap of ice dispenser door was broken.
I watched the repair video before I even ordered the part. That helped me determine if I felt I could make the repair. The video was extraordinarily helpful. Can't say enough about it. I even took off the dispenser door to see if I thought I could do it. The part arrived quickly, in just a couple of days. I only needed the door flap but it came with the solenoid which is not uncommon on ordering parts. (I couldn't even find the part on other web sites much less a video on how to repair.) I reviewed the video again. I removed the drip tray and door facing as instructed. When removing the mechanism I did get incur a slight electrical shock. I had not unplugged the refrig. Duh.. Got the mechanism out and inserted the door flap. The solenoid strike bar had come out and I had a slight problem getting that back in but referenced the video and no problem. Put in all back in place. Had to clean out the ice bin some because water had frozen in the bottom. Put it back in, plugged in the refrig and I am back in business! Terrific! The video was the key for me. It gave me confidence with very clear instructions. Bill

Ice maker quit
I went to your site thinking the problem was lack of electronic/elec signal. Wrong! I then was guided to your "ice door repair kit". I only then realized(after viewing the repair video) that ice door SOLENOID failure was far more likely than elec circuitry failure.Since it was inexpensive I ordered the kit......gambling that it would fix it; and it did! On my first try I installed the close-door spring wrong but then reviewed the video and instantly saw my error and corrected it. I also got an elec nibble (shock) once because I hadn't disconnected as the video said to do. Good parts, good information, timely response! "Piece of Cake"! Cheers John Taylor

The ice maker door broke
It was not that hard. I am not totally inept, but also not a mechanice or techie. I have discovered that a lot of repair jobs have a video that shows you how to do things, and seeing it done makes a task doable for me.

The original door flap broke
The replacements parts were aftermarket parts so I could not simply replace the one piece I needed. I did replace all the original parts with the aftermarket parts and it works perfectly. I wish the design was closer to the original, but it is just as functional. The only problem I ran into was the images on the instruction sheet were difficult to see. The text however did an exceptional job of explaining each step.

The Ice Maker Wouldn't Dispense Ice
First we ordered a new solenoid. . . The little piece that opens and closes whenever you push the button to dispense ice. That definitely needed to be replaced, and it was easy to do. However, that didn't fix the problem, so we looked and looked at the assembly and decided that a spring was missing. We ordered the spring, and when it arrived, we found that it matched exactly one that was already on the assembly. :-) Not the problem. Thirty minutes later we figured it out,. The diagrams at part select were not helpful with this. It was a matter of figuring out how the magnetic weight fit into the assembly. That's all it was! Now we have an extra spring for the future.

double outlet water valve leaks water
shut water off to fridge. remove dust panel from bottom of fridge on back of fridge. remove screws on bracket that holds water valve. remove lines(2) that connect directly to top of water valve (keep track of which line goes to which side on top of valve). cut about 1/2 inch off of those 2 water lines. take those 2 water lines and just insert/push them into their proper location on top of new water valve. reattach bracket. replace dust panel. turn water back on to fridge and check for leaks.
