Ice Maker stopped making ice
The ice maker stopped making ice. Cold water was still available at the freezer door dispenser which seemed to isolate the problem to the ice maker control board/motor. My ice making unit was not identical to the one in the video, but close. After disconnecting the power, I was able to replace the control board/motor without having to remove the entire ice making unit. Total time for repair was under 15 minutes.

side by side refridgerator and the frost free section stopped staying cold
I have a KitchenAid side by side refridgerator and the frost free section stopped staying cold. The wife called what she thought was a reputable repairman. He came out and vacumed under the fridge with my vacume and charged us $85.00. I felt a little ripped off. I reserched the problem on line and the most common problem for this issue was replacing the thermister and the diffuser. Ordered the parts from PartSelect. the evening they arrived after about 20 minutes and a screw driver I had the repair complete. The refridgerator is working like new. I'm sure I saved more than a few dolars if the same repairman had to come back out.

Replace the Icemaker Motor Assembly
The icemaker on oour Kenmore was fading fast. Ice was only being harvested once every 4-5 hours instead of every two. Then finally it stopped altogether. I did some research and decide that it was the motor assembly that needed to be replaced. I ordered the part and within 3 days it arrived. Within 45 minutes I replaced the part with the assistance of the youtube video. I am not a Mr. Fix-it but this was fairly straight forward. I am now a hero.

Door to the ice shute broken with worn out parts.
Took two screwdrivers and inserted bottom of bezel pryed up and out gently. Removed (4) screws and unpluged (3) electronic plugs removing the circuit board. After you remove bezel & circuit board you have a chance to see what you are doing and get to the problem area with more ease. Remove old parts and reverse it putting the new parts. Process is very simple just pay attention to the order everything was removed. On my frig one of the plastic ears that hold the pin which holds the spring and door was broke. The piece I needed was no longer avaliable. I had to use a piece of the plastic from the old parts I removed, drilled a hole the size of the pin in it and glued it to the broken off ear. Put everything back together and I am pleased to say that everything works fine! So you might need to go a little MacGyver on it. All in all very simple fix.

Compressor having hard time kicking on
I simply watched the repair video and did it! Super easy, needed start device and capacitor. As easy as unplugging the old and adding the new. The video helped and gave me confidence. Wives can fix fridges too! Saved me $2500. Looks like I'll need a new excuse if I want a new fridge.
