frozen ice would not dispense
the tutorial is perfectwatch Steve. The boards were bad but coincidentaly so was the motor/control unit. I satrted with the boards, got my LED codes back to normal but still could not dispense. Installed the motor/control unit and had cubes dropping in 15 minutes. Great service, great tutorials.

Whirlpool Refrigerator not cooling
Besides the refrigerator not cooling, there was a click-buzz-click noise occurring at the rear of the refrigerator every 5-10 minutes. I started by looking up the issue online, I determined the issue was either the compressor or the starter device. I ended up ordering the replcement starter device from partselect.com. The replacement was very easy. All I had to do was pull off the rear cardboard panel, unplug the wire bundle to the starter device, and pull out the starter device.

Ice maker was missing / broke.
I watched the quick video once to see the type, if it matched mine, and the difficulty. I went ahead and ordered the part and within minutes, I had the ice maker installed. The video was so well designed, I only had to watch it once!

Broken slides on both left and right side of pan.
Removed pan from fridge. Removed shelf unit and placed on bath towel, upside down. Removed plastic slide rails from both left and right sides. Re-installed new rails (left and right were interchangeable). Put new installation back in fridge and slid pan back in. Super simple!!! A video was available on Partselect on the replacement parts page. ANYONE can do this!!! Thanks much Partselect!!! Brian

No Ice
Ihis $2000.00 plus fridge's icemaker lasted only a few years. I saw on you tube a video showing what may be causing the problem. After ruling out any problem with the electric eye mechenism I figgured it had to be the actual icemaker itself. I purchased one ,it installed very easy and is now working fine.Had I known it would be this easy to diagnose and install I would have replaced it years ago.

Ice maker quit making ice
A local appliance parts distributor suggested that I go on line to get help figuring out the problem. The motor assembly was 51% probability. I ordered the part and followed the instructions given at the time of purchase. In a very short time ice was dropping.

Would not cool or freeze
I did exactly as the man on the video showed me to do. However, I was not sure what part was broke so I replace them both. Under $100 and my problem was fixed. This place had great shipping too: 2 days. They will be my first choice next time I have a problem. Oh and our local repair company would have been $125 for just a service call and they could get to it in a week.

Ice Maker stopped making ice. A clicking sound was coming out of the unit.
I removed the ice maker unit completely from the freezer, following a Utube repair video that I found. I originally thought it was just the control board that was defective, because on examination, found a burned-out copper trace on the board, as well as a burned-out plastic connection point. Installing the new parts was a breeze. This icemaker is pretty foolproof, with plastic tabs that line up with the housing. a matter of lining up the screw holes was all that was necessary. Only problem I had was attaching a plastic cover that shields the electrical connection from the water. Once all was installed, I had to wait overnight for the icemaker to make ice. We've had ice ever since! Thank you Partsselect for very courteous and fast service!

Icemaker stopped making ice
Checked the hose above the icemaker to see if water was frozen. Ran the freezer at a lower temp to see if lines would unfreeze. Took a wild guess that a component was broken in the icemaker, but it was cheaper to get the entire assembly anyways. Removed about 4 screws under icemaker, disconnected icemaker, jiggled and slid the icemaker and tray out, traded out icemaker assemblies, and put it all back, probably took 10-15 mins, and it made ice again!

Wasn't making ice.
I ordered both icemaker motor assembly and the emitter and receiver (sensors)as I was uncertain as to which was the culprit. We couldn't unplug the frige as it is heavy, so we shut the circuit breaker until we were done with the repair. The icemaker motor was a bit clumsy to remove. My refrigerator was entirely different than the one on the video I viewed, as I have a side by side and the video was of an entirely different model. The video's icemaker was not as clumsy to work with. My husband was a little apprehensive so I rode shot gun and assisted and he did great. He did change the motor first and probably should have waited to see if it worked. He didn't wait, and went ahead and changed the sensors....that was a breeze. We waited about 2 hours and lo and behold once the freezer went down to 14 degrees, the icemaker began it's magic and we had a full supply of ice within 24 hours. So, I saved quite a bit of cash by purchasing the parts I needed at Parts Select and eliminated the repairman's expensive fee. Very happy with end results.

Icemaker stoped making ice.
There are two tabs that hold the icemaker to the rails it sits on. I use a small screwdriver and pushed the tabs up to release the tray and slid the Ice maker out. the cover over the control motor just pops right off. Then I removed three screws from the control motor pulled it off and put the new on, replaced the screws and put the cover back on and slid the icemaker back into the rails. I shut the freezer door and within the five minutes it took me to put my tools back in the garage, it was dumping ice. Very easy to fix. You do not need to remove the screws that hold the icemaker to the tray.
