You can avoid using harsh chemicals by making your own all-purpose cleaning spray. Combine two tablespoons of liquid peppermint castile soap and one gallon of water. Fill a spray bottle with this mixture, and use it like any store-bought cleaner
Try transfering food into sealed jars and fix any leaky faucets. Cutting off the food and water supply will make your home less attractive to unwanted guests.
To eliminate ant traffic, sprinkle coffee grounds around windows and doors. Spiders can be kept at bay by combining equal parts vinegar and water, then spraying the mixture over the places the spiders are entering. Fight fruit flies with apple cider vinegar! The sweet smell of the vinegar will attract the flies. Place a couple of tablespoons of vinegar in a cup, cover the top with plastic wrap and poke holes in the plastic.
