Needed to replace water filter
When you push in on the end of the water filter it releases a mechanism and it springs back toward you to pull out. Then just push the new filter in until it clicks into place.

Does the bypass filter still filter water?
For model number FGSS2335TFSS
Hello Bill, Thank you for the question. The Water Filter Bypass will not filter the water. It is used to plug the filter housing so the water bypasses the filter and goes directly tot he ice maker or dispenser. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

How often should this filter be chaged

I want to replace my pure source ultra water filter part no. Ultrawf with a filter bypass plug. I have a ro water filter sytem that feeds the ice maker etc and don't feel it necessary to have the fridge filter the water also. What part number bypass plug will i need.
