The Cutting Disc Assembly is an individually sold, black, plastic part. Its installation is rated as "Easy", and will require a Screwdriver, Pliers, Socket set, and Hex Wrench to install. This part holds the string to cut grass, and if broken, the cutting string will not be able to attach. This may occur due to general wear/fatigue/damage to the part.
