If my oil drain plug for the drive unit is tight and I am getting leaking, should I use thread tape on the plug threads or ? Simplicity two stage, model 1691900
For model number 1691900
Hi Carl,
Thank you for your question. If the drain plug is on tight and there is leaking, this may be the result of installing it too tightly. This would cause damage to the threads and would cause the oil to leak. This could also be the result of a missing or deformed washer or if the gasket has dried out, been damaged or is missing. To verify if you can use thread tape to resolve the issue, you will need to contact the manufacturer. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.
