Can these support rod damper be replaced from the top of the machine or do I have too lay the washer on it's side?
For model number WA5451ANW/XAA 01
Hi Richard, thank you for the question. We have found some relevant instructions for you to replace the suspension rods, part number PS4221573. They may not be of the exact same model, but they will help you with the installation. You may follow the following steps: go around back and remove the screws that hold the top to the frame. Remove the small access panel by unscrewing its two screws. Grab a putty knife and release the little metal release tabs on each side of the front panel, and then lift up the panel. Take a log of wood and stand it on the front side of the washer to support the front panel. Halfway down on the front sides, there is a pressure switch clipped to the rods. Unclip the switches. Push the tub out of the way a little bit, and then reach down and grab the rod. Lift it up and slide it out of the little cutout. Now lower it down far enough so it comes out of the little cutout at the bottom. Pull the rod out of the washer. Follow the same step backward and install the new rods. We hope this helps!
