The ice maker works but the water dispenser does not. Could this be the water inlet valve?

Hi Buzz, thank you for reaching out. If the refrigerator water dispenser is not working but the ice maker is, your water pressure could be to blame. Your fridge needs less pressure to make ice than it does to dispense water. On the other hand, if both the water and the ice maker will not work, there may be an issue with the water line or the inlet valve bringing water into. The water reservoir tank or tubing could be frozen. If frozen, you would get water to the icemaker but not the dispenser. We would recommend checking the water reservoir heater, part number PS4140632. Water reservoir heater prevents water in the water reservoir from freezing. Good luck with your repair!
Are there supposed to be ohms between any of the 3 contacts in the small connector? Do the 3 wires go to a rotary valve or flow meter?

If the water supply in the door of fridge works does that mean the ice maker water inlet valve is working?

Water dispenser does not always shut off. Only happens once in a while and it is not the micro switch. Can this valve get intermittently stuck open.

Yes, an intermittently stuck-open water inlet valve can cause a water dispenser to not always shut off, often due to debris or mineral buildup, or a faulty internal valve component like a diaphragm or plunger. If the microswitch is fine, inspect and clean the valve, test the solenoid's resistance with a multimeter, and check wiring for shorts. If the valve is faulty, consider replacing it.
