I ran into some difficulty from there. I couldn't figure out how to get the frame off, because there were not any other screws or visible methods of attachment, and the thing wouldn't just be pulled off the ... Read more door. I didn't want to just yank ithe frame off the door, and have something break.
II looked online for help. I looked in the Whirlpool owner's manual for instructions on removing the frame. (All that for nothing.) So, I called Whirlpool. They told me "only a technician can do that."
I am not sure as to the legitimacy of that statement.. I did not find any technological or safety issue that made me feel this was "so well built", I would never figure it out. In fact, I was suprised at how cheaply they are put together.

I had a delay inthe repair when I found the glass to the window in the door was stuck to the frame with silicone caulk. But I just peeled off the caulk, and popped the glass out.
Once I got that on in the new frame, the same way I found it on the old frame, I put on the caulking the same way I found it. I let it dry overnight.
The next day, after cleaning the interior of the glass, I popped the frame back on the microwave door, by pushing the little ledges over their "catches"...and viola! I saved myself a very expensive "technician" visit.
Thank you, PartSelect!
