Need “fried” cover, but need to know if the attachment rivet comes with the cover.

I found where another customer was asking about whether a rivet comes with the replacement cover (part # mck63604901 Cover, stirrer fan). The answer posted said the rivet does not come with the cover. How do i know if i need to order the rivet (part number ps3522869)? My cover was fried but i don't know if i need to order the rivet. Please advise.

Hello Pam, Thank you for your question. The rivet is just the plastic screw that connects the cover to the microwave, if yours was fried you would most likely need a new rivet if the original one was fried with the cover. hope this helps!

Both covers were destroyed when the oven was on without any food inside.
Both new parts were installed simply by snapping them into the holes used by the old covers. What I did need was the single round headed push pin used to hold each cover in place after they were snapped into their respective mounting holes but, none were supplied with the new covers. Luckily, I was able to secure the old pins from the damaged parts that I had held onto and used them to secure the new covers. New pins should have been supplied with the new covers.

the stirrer fan cover meltted after I forgot to put the food in microwave and turned the oven on

Glad we had a spare microwave to use while we waited 2 weeks for the parts to arrive. I accidentally hit "cook time" instead of "timer" and melted the 'Fan cover' and 'Stirrer Fan covers' by running the microwave empty. We ordered both parts at the same time, website showed both were in-stock, but they were shipped separately. The first part was shipped 4 days after order was placed, arriving 4 days later. The 2nd part arrived 13 days after the order was placed. Both were packed well, were exactly the parts we needed, and installation was very easy. We just wish it hadn't taken so long to receive them, and can't fathom why they weren't shipped together. Gave them 3 stars for the delay, otherwise would've been 5 stars for the parts themselves.
