The Right Fit
The part I needed came as expected and matched appropriately as the replacement for part for my worn-out heat duct assembly. Although, anyone wishing to make this repair, be aware that you will need to completely disassemble the dryer to get to the part. If you are up to it, then rest assured that the part is easily replaced, once you get to it.

How to repair the heat duct assembly. Difficult time disassembling to get to part. Thank you.
For model number DLGX7188WM
Hi Pam,
Thank you for your question. You will have to take off the entire back panel and the top panel of your machine to be able to comfortably get to this part. It is attached to the backside of your drum by a few screws. Once you have removed those screws, you should be able to remove this part from the rest of the duct leading out of the machine and replace it. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My LG gas dryer heat duct appears needing replacement. It has definite signs of high heat damage. Is this normal or should I be looking for something else to fix or adjust to reduce this happening to a new replacement of part (F200)

Is there anything else I should be planning to replace that would protect a new duct? Thank you!
For model number DLG7188RM
Hi David, thank you for your question! Based on our research, you may have a damaged high-limit thermostat, part number PS16878105. The thermostat attaches on the blower housing. It monitors and helps regulate the temperature inside the dryer. Your heat duct may have got damaged because of overheating. We would recommend checking the high-limit thermostat to fix the issue. You may also need to replace the heat duct if it is already damaged. Good luck with your repair!
