This genuine OEM felt gasket provides a cushioned seal between the inner tub of your electric dryer and the rear panel. It prevents your clothes from getting snagged and helps in heat retention. You will find it around the circumference of the drum. The most typical reason for replacing the felt seal is when it becomes worn. It is important to note that this rear seal is sold separately from the front seal and the adhesive needed to install it.

Perfect Fit
A little care and attention to removing old seal and cement, a second set of hands is nice when putting on new cement and installing the new seal.

Easy to fix
Once I figured out how to open the lid on my lg (butter knife trick on YouTube), this was easy to fix. Order a belt and replace that too while you have it apart. Thank God for you guys and YouTube videos.

Does the high heat adhesive come with the drum gasket (felt)
For model number DLE5977S
Hello Howard, thank you for your question. The adhesive is a separate part, and would have to be ordered in addition to the gasket. The part number for the adhesive is WPY055980. I hope this helps!

Is it a good idea to replace the front and rear seal at the same time? If so is there a rebuild kit that comes with both and a belt and the adhesive?
For model number DLEX3370W
Hi Clay, Thank you for the question. We do recommend replacing both but they are sold separately not in a kit. Hope this helps!

Are the felt seals the same for both the front and rear or are they different?

Hello and thank you for writing.
This Felt Seal is for the rear of the tub on your model and is the only one listed for it. The front of the tub has the gasket, part number PS3524970. The adhesive is part number PS11757492 and yes you do need this adhesive. We hope this information helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
Hi Corvera, thank you for contacting us. First, shut off the power supply to the appliance. To get access to the felt seal, you need to remove the tub assembly. Unthread the screws of the cover cabinet assembly. Remove it and disconnect all the wire harnesses attached to the door latches and the bulb. Next, remove the bulkhead and the drive belt over the drum assembly. Locate the felt seal attached to the drum. Replace the felt seal with a new one. We hope this information is useful!
